250+ ranked game xerath

This isn't my usual thread, but i'm just about fed up with the game. Has anything really differed? not really, other than the meta taking a turn to a more snowballing meta. So what am i writing about? I think league, at least to me is starting to reach that stage wow entered after WoTLk. The game itself doesn't feel rewarding at all this season. I don't enjoy seeing almost every champ rework earn a Dash, invulnerability, on hit proc. While older champs seemingly always get the cold shoulder. Isn't it about time we see get something? how long has he been indisposed of? Point being i've played 250 + games recorded in ranked for these last 2 seasons alone. I feel i understand the champion fairly well, but i don't believe riot has a real inkling on what to do with mages. Most of these abilities and or reworks going for mages are delayed abilities. This would be fine and all if it weren't for the fact that we have entered into a snowballing meta. I'm not asking for the herp derp response of mages are supposed to have counters. What i'm asking for is what are mages supposed to definitely counter? We have seem to lost our role as a definitive role and the game just appears gray to a long time player.
