Tank stats and my thoughts on Yasuo

This shouldn't be too terribly long, but it's a remake of my original post. Got negative feedback due to formatting! Buncha English teachers on here, I tell ya. Anyway, lets get to the meat of this post, shall we?

The current state of tank stats are absolutely hot garbage. There is no way around it, there isn't outplaying it, it just isn't good. The common theory seems to be that when ADC's rise, so do tanks. I think that's wrong this time, let me explain.

To keep it simple; viewership. I think riot legitimately makes more money off it's viewership, than it's players, due to the rise of Esports and the LCS. And a game where a tank can walk up to a hypercarry, and hold a decent fight without being melted, just doesn't watch well and it's not what people see. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think there was a noticeable shift in this game, that kind of backs up my theory.

I don't quite remember what season it was. I recall was that this game use to be huge on tanks. Their damage and the ability to survive but somewhat hold a fight with an ADC unless you got outplayed. This was due to run of the mill builds: Force of Nature, Atma's spear, (old) warmogs, (old) thornmail, and maybe trin force depending on the champion. That was the soul of every build I had when I went mundo and it was glorious. I was killable but it took two people, because I was a FAT tank. Madreds bloodrazor was probably my biggest counter (god do I miss that item, I don't think bork will compare).

Now, I noticed this rise in Esports and basically gutting of tanks around the EXACT same time. Force of Nature and Atma's spear never got replaced, by anything, Warmog's and Thornmail both got gutted. And I think because of this correlation that I found, it's why we wont see tanks again. Riot is focused on viewers, and not player base. Changes are primarily made around pro play, and I think what backs that up is the resounding evidence of these boards; People chant on boards for changes to certain things and nothing at all happens. Ever. Generally just changes to champs who see a lot of pro play.

Which leads me to my next point, cancer. I mean... Yasuo?

I've generally not had too many problems with champions and the feel of how this game plays except this guy right here. I have two examples;

  1. I'm a 9/1 Jhin in bot lane, Yasuo is 0/6 mid. Long story short, he finally gets a Phantom Dancer, rotates bot to an empty lane and somehow kills me. Yes I ran, the instant I saw him, but his gap close through flash and e through minions? I think you get where I'm going. Anyway, I died under tower. To a Yasuo with 1 item that fed out the ass. Also, no, I wasn't hit by a tornado. Just trying to counteract the "you could of outplayed it" early.

  2. Braum. ADC is my main, and support is secondary. So it came as a big surprise that while my ADC was dead, and Yasuo and their jungle, whom I can't quite recall right now, pushed tower. My best idea to hold tower? Ulti. And in comes the windwall. Mind you I had no idea windwall stops my ulti as I've never seen it do that. The idea that it can stop Braum ulti is a little absurd though. His windwall is a counter to projectiles, which is why it makes no sense to me that it stops anything other than AA (if you're not ranged). I haven't found anything in the game that it can't stop. The fact it stops an ulti that literally comes out of the ground, like a Cho Q, is exactly why it needs AT LEAST revisited.

These are just the thoughts of a random guy playing his favorite game. Let me know what you think!
