You ended Season 6 in Bronze 3. Why in God's name do you think the system should put you in Gold ?

EDIT:

Nvm I didn't read properly. You wanted a Gold player to answer. Apologies.

If you were Bronze last season, why would your placements put you in Gold?

Placement matches place you LOWER than you were last season, so that you have to grind back up. If you were Silver or Bronze last season, you will be Bronze this season. If your MMR was at Gold and you were facing Gold MMR players, you would probably still get placed in high Bronze, maybe Silver. You were Bronze, with Bronze MMR, against Bronze MMR players, no way in hell are you getting placed higher.

Um.

Challenger who goes 10-0 in placements gets placed in Plat1.

So, take their placement, subtract the elo from Challenger->Plat1

Do the same subtraction on your rank, and guess what? Everyone Plat and lower ends up in Bronze/Silver.

You've got to earn it again.

I was Gold last season and put in your division. There is no reason that anyone can tell other than if you lose to the teammates that are ranked in that area. If i dont get my role i dont take it seriously and apparently that is going to be your punishment when you come across me. Of my games i got jungle i went: Vi: 6/1/4 (22 min win) - Vi: 8/3/2 (42 min loss) - Kha: 22/6/13 (50 min win) Vi: 17/2/3 (28 min win). The rest of my games i was autofilled and ended up first timing three champions. Dont feel bad :)

would love a gold 3 or higher

from bronze? it is not even funny

you wouldn't get even g5 even on the original placements on an unranked account with 7:3, almost for sure

We all start lower. Just grind back. The whole point of ranked season is to grind. If they just put you where you were last season, there wouldn't be much incentive to re-learn the game shift each season and show your ability to adapt and improve. Also, you were bronze last season. Going 7-3 against bronze players doesnt mean ur gold material. Grind up...

Keep in mind your kda (or other performance metrics) in your games doesn't matter, just your final mmr, which depends on your MMR from last season and your wins/losses during placements.

The soft mmr reset means most people end up a full tier below where they ended last season, so most people who were bronze last season will be starting in B5 this season. Doing well in placements however probably means you have a relatively high bronze 5 mmr compared to those who did poorly in their placements, so you'll climb out of bronze 5 much faster due to the comparably large LP gains for your wins.

Taking into account MMR from last season is very important, otherwise you'd have challenger and legitimately bronze 5 level players in the same games and it wouldn't be fun for anyone until things shook out as the baddies fall to their proper level and the good people climb back. The soft reset ensures people actually earned their rank for the season, and forces people to constantly adapt to the changes to the game, which are especially big during preseason.
