Proposals to get a better feeling as mage player with new runes
Hey guys, first of all, my english sucks so i'm sorry if my text is not understandable :(
So i would like to talk specifically about mage runes. i've read a lot of times, from Rioters that "having no counterplay is unhealthy". My question then is, in what those new runes, bring counterplay ??? Mages are certainly not bad with new runes, most of them got their winrate increased (Lux Xerath), but what makes them strong? The answer : Only runes that increase your damage without you have to do anyhing. Just hit a skillshot and u get some bonus dmg for no reason. WHY? it doesn't feel good to play against and to play with !!! It makes the game more unhealthy and make damage higher while a lot of people complain about it...
I'm a mage, i wanna do damage, what can i take as a keystone ? Aery is designed for support and his utility part reduces his dmg part (what i want to have) Comet is unfun, unhealthy and i don't wanna "rely" (not sure about that word xD) on the RNG, on something that i don't control for my winning conditions ! (/!\ i'm not saying this rune is bad, at the moment, i would even say it is broken because it hits most of the time) Electrocute ? Lux can't even use it for some reasons (btw it's not an empowered AA, the rune doesn't even work if u Q R or E R :) ). In fact this rune is designed for assassins, who have no problem to use it and abuse it.
So here comes my proposal : Delete Electrocute and bring back old thunderlord. Why ?
- For the reasons above.
- Electrocute is too strong on asssassins because it's easy to proc and knowing that the rune have more dmg than thunderlord, it makes them os ppl easyly and without counterplay. -Mages get back a rune designed for dmg AND that was fun to play in lane. Oh GOD ! I miss the old time when we were counting the number of spell or AA we did or we took from the opposent to stop the trade or following it. THIS was counterplay. i was not playing Lux like a bitch and staying under tower and benifiting from runes like comet (and others that i don't know the name, like scorch). NO, before, you had to put your AA to get more dmg with thunderlord (OK no big deal against a melee champ early, but against another range, there was a risk).
I would really really like to get an answer by Riot about this post. (it has been long for me to write this since i don't speak english very well, but it means a lot for me those new runes as a mage player :( )
Also tell me guys what would you think if thunderlord would come back and replace electrocute in term of balance :)
