Why is a 1300 gold item better than a summoner spell?

Has anyone noticed that is better than . Unlike , removes all crowd control debuffs including: , , ult and alot of other abilities, It also removes , ,:.

The only thing really gives you is 3 seconds of 65% Tenacity stacking multiplicatively with other sources.

TL;DR: Buff or remove it like . Pretty sure 1300g(close to nothing) for is worth the item slot.

QSS doesn't get rid of summoner spells, Cleanse does. Also, like someone else said, Cleanse is good for AP mages that are laning against strong point-click CC or difficult to dodge CC like TwistedFate Veigar Syndra

Cleanse is stronger than QSS in every way - removes more things and also reduces incoming CC. Also if you're an AP mage you don't want to invest in QSS against let's say TF/Maaz.Cleanse is definitely a good summoner spell currently in certain situations

QSS does not remove ignite since that is not a CC. Cleanse will remove that. For exhaust it only removes the movement speed slow. Cleanse will remove the whole thing. Both do not work on red smite.

What if they made Cleanse removing everything? Like how QSS used to remove Death Mark and other effects

I've been annoyed by this for a while. Every position pretty much has 1 or 2 spell that dominate it. Flash > everything except in rare situations. And top laners always go TP or Ignite. Mid laners go ignite or barrier. And supports and adcs go exhaust and heal. No one picks cleanse! Why, because its fucking garbage. It needs its cooldown lowered dramatically. Should be like 90 seconds. I bet people pick it up then. And it still wouldn't be OP because that gives it the same CD as QSS, which isn't OP right?

Cleanse is better for the Tenacity, as you mentioned. The problem is, usually if that much CC hits you - you're already dead from the damage.

Cause in early game you dont have 1300 gold to put towards a qss... so having cleanse is pretty crucial in certain m.us and higher elo.

There's no logic behind the item or the spell. "Okay we need a way to remove cc and junk" - makes cleanse. "Some champions can suppress their targets, let's make a new item to combat that" - makes cleanse as an item, removes extra tenacity, throws in "removes suppression"

The only benefit is being able to pick a more useful summoner spell in exchange for 1 item. Qss > Cleanse. Why not just make cleanse remove suppression as well?
