Am I naturally a god?

I just started playing a few months ago and mostly play jungle and support. I recently unlocked my screen and have focused on farming and not flaming my team. I was wondering if this match is a mistake, if I am diamond, and if its a regular occurance with league of legends. While I enjoyed chatting with the diamond player about the game, I feel like he may have had an advantage over me slightly when he solo'd dragon at 3 minutes. Maybe I'm diamond in 3 months and I'm naturally a god? Anyway just curious if league matches you based off skill or is it arbitrary? cause this game seems to point to the latter and that's not very fun. I'm trying to git gud but damn.

It is because riot broke matchmaking and refuses to fix it.

To my knowledge, it's based off mostly games played/won. You could get a team with a total of 2000 wins and one member is actually a new player with just over 20 wins and match with a team with around 2000 wins but they all have about 400 wins which is completely unfair. It's not the ONLY factor in match making but it's one of the worse things about the game.

It's not a game with unranked and bronze, those usually were my games when I started so I guess it's really good (if it happens on a regular basis (once in a while it used to happen to me too (and believe me I was bad.. ), it also can be that they tweak their matching alg, so comparing it to me when I started don't really tell much)
