I began to play league of legends back in the beginning of season 4 and i have begun to realize that League of Legends, as a "fun" video game, is no longer being fun. I have thought about this for a while and I realized one component in why this game had many players leaving for Overwatch or has decided to stop playing. I had many friends at school who played with me, about 40. But now, only 3 people still play. I remember in season 4 when the game was extremely addicting and fun. It was fun to queue with my friends and stomp people in normals with constant "outplays"(what I thought were outplays at the time)where i would get a kill. If I was one of the stereotypical elders of this current age I would say something like,"Back in my day, league of legends was the most fun game i had ever played." After realizing that league of legends youtubers had gotten bored of or quit league of legends, I asked myself. "Why?" League of Legends is still getting more popular by the minute. But the people who played for more than 2 years have started to quit. When season 5 preseason came out, I was excited. I couldn't wait for me to do a round with the new map update. But when the season 6 preseason came out, instead of being excited like I was last year, I was disappointed. By changing the masteries, it indirectly made some champions extremely difficult to play against.(zed and yasuo) This also made it so almost everyone wanted to pick them, or they would immediately dodge, which made queue times longer and made me a lot less enthusiastic about playing League of legends. I understand that many people will disagree with this, but I personally think that League of Legends have become boring. But I'm still playing, hoping for riot to make League of Legends fun. Another reason why I think that League of legends has become less fun, is because of the new players coming in. i understand that Riot Games have no control over this, so I will review this briefly. I had played urf mode in season 5 and it was the most fun I had ever had in League of Legends. No one had room to complain, because everyone is over powered. However, I had realized that the new people coming in to play League of Legends have been very toxic. In season 6, I realized that afk's, dc's, and intentionally feeding has become a lot more common. But the way I finally knew for sure, that people have become more toxic is when i played urf mode in season 6.

People. Were. Complaining. In. Urf. Mode.

They were complaining about how overpowered champions were in urf mode, and go afk and dc. Just that, had made the League of Legends experience extremely sad. Now, in season 7, Riot has reworked many assassins, and has made champions that weren't very good, good again. I applaud Riot, however, people have been complaining about this and how "assassins are overpowered" when really, they are just fed. Many people have overlooked this, and people have been typing, more than playing, making them vulnerable to death in the game.

This, personally, I have no evidence for. But I do think it is true. I think that Riot doesn't care about people who have bad ping, in League of Legends. I realized that most bronze players are just people who lag, but have potential to become at least gold. I have looked at patch notes every now and then, but i have never seen Riot actually address the bad ping in League of Legends. My average ping is 600 ping now. I understand that Riot Games have their hands full and are working hard. But i beg you, please fix the League of Legends ping.

My final point, is the lack of normals. I went on PBE today and I saw that normals have disappeared and Riot hadn't announced that they were just disabled. They hadn't said anything about it. I realized where this was going and I just beg Riot to fix the ping. I apologize for wasting anyone's time who took the time to read this. But this is what I truly believe.

Honestly it sounds like you are just burned out from the game, and that's a completely normal thing to happen. I still love playing the game after 5 years, but it just depends on the person.

Another reason you might be thinking this is that Riot has promoted team-based gameplay over solo gameplay in the recent season, which turns off some people, since it's harder to solo carry games. From a balance standpoint the game has been becoming much more even, and Riot has done a very nice job adding resources to League: Universe, the eSports scene, new client, etc.

In my opinion the game has "gotten better", although it's undeniably a different game than it was 3 years ago.
