Yes. I've had great success in my games recently as him, and I think that his biggest issues have been solved. Let's get down to the fixed I found.

He is no longer instagibbing. This was by far the biggest issue with him. His shield gain was so powerful, and his instakilling combo felt unfair. With his low cooldowns and close-mid range he was extremely powerful. Now, he has to ramp up his Q, W sustained damage, low E cooldown for shielding and extra damage, and ultimate now initially dealing 25% damage and 75% overtime. Instead of the classic ERQWE + ignite to demolish any squishy. However, he is very snowbally, and can become a giant threat.

Morde isn't super sustaining. On top of his ridiculous shield gain, endless harass, and wave clearing, he could heal while doing all of this. Thanks to his new hybrid scaling, his healing isn't nearly as strong as it used to be. To me this is another huge factor of lowering Morde's extreme tankiness.

Morde now includes counterplay. This is it. When Riot was desperate to make him a duo laner, and gave him the sloppiest rework we had ever seen, they actually didn't screw up. The reworked kit as of patch 6.1 is almost perfect. Let me tell you his counterplay.

Passive - Iron Man Yes. His insane damage reduction isn't as strong anymore, and now it scales with his HP, making this ability somewhat balanced. His shield will drain after not dealing damage, so he can't protect himself as well without constantly dealing damage. This passive I find was rebalanced well. 35% shield gain - 25% shield gain.

Q - Mace of Hues No longer does he bash your brains in as you try to trade with him with his burst. As of now, in the early game it's cooldown is quite high, allowing his enemies to trade with him well when it is on cooldown. He also has to ramp up his damage, so extended trades are not advised against him. If he traded with you and he landed his 3rd Q, you probably lost that trade hard.

W - Harvesters of Sorrow Morde can push the lane very hard with this ability, and the damage/heal is strong. He will cast it on a minion, meaning waveclearing his wave or killing the vessel will stop him from pushing/shielding/healing. I find the counterplay on this ability great. It also has a large cooldown.

E - Siphon of Destruction Morde can no longer endlessly gain shield, instaclear waves and sustain. It has been tuned down well. The damage is weaker on this ability, and he can no longer sustain hard thanks to its his cost. However, this ability still remains as Morde's main harass tool, but he must think wisely before spamming it nonstop as he will run out of health. Fighting him in minion waves is your worst enemy as he is likely to get tons of shielding. Now this ability isn't as potent as it once was, but it is his primary shield generator. With his W he can clear waves with ease.

R - Children of the Grave Wow. Riot actually fixed its burst. Instead of instantly dealing massive damage, it is a decent burst with a powerful DoT. Now champions with sustain can survive his onslaught for up to 10 seconds. This is a giant fix for Morde and I am happy Riot made this ability a DoT. Buy a Death's Dance against him..

Conclusion Morde is now a short ranged AP bruiser that can actually die. His kit has counterplay, and he has windows of power. There are ways to greatly avoid his onslaught now. Morde isn't nearly as toxic as he was, but he will still remain as a lane bully. Some lanes he can stomp, and some lanes he gets stomped COUGH Renekton COUGH. In the end, his biggest issues have been solved, and the initial rework was a catastrophic failure that actually ended up quite well. He could still use some tweaks like buffing his horrid "Juggernaut" base stats and giving him a legendary skin. I can now enjoy playing my favorite tin can! P.S. - Riot, please give Morde a VU, it isn't fair how Fiora/Shen got one...
