Making Critical Strike Chance More Linear?

RNG can be our best friend or worst nightmare. That 2v1 you just fought bot lane? Well, unfortunately your 20% crit-chance didn't kick in so they escaped with 50 HP. It can be quite frustrating.

Crit. chance is a cool mechanic - it satisfies with you being able to do 30% of someone's health with one attack. And many ADCs have been abusing Critical Strike chance, being able to shred the most tanky Cho-Gath to one-hitting the squishiest Sona.

A proposal for a way to play around this?

Make critical strike chance linear. For example, if you have 20% critical chance, every 5th hit will critically strike, starting after you bought the item. This allows for consistency. It could also have a little indicator telling you when your next attack will critically strike (somewhat similar to Caitlyn's headshot). So, if you go for a trade VS an enemy who has 20% crit. chance, and you see the indicator, you know when to back off, waiting out their next attack.

I think this would add a better level of depth to critical strike chance, knowing when you can trade effectively and managing yourself around your auto-attacks, making it slightly less brainless.

I'm sure it would have a few kinks, but it wouldn't be something too great that Riot couldn't work out.

Then it would be basically Bard passive. The idea has come around before multiple times I am sure of it. That also is what Caitlyn does. Not every champion can be Jhin .

how would that work with cait/jhin as they already have a guaranteed critical strike

Obviously you don't know the definition of CHANCE.

I'd like to have a system similar to ppm (proc per minutes) Where 20% isn't actualy 20%, but each hit has a smaller actual crit chance (like 10%), but each unsuccessful hits increases the odds of the following attack being a crit, with the chances per hits to crit increases or lower depending of your luck. It would reduce lucky/unlucky crit streaks, while still being random.

Ex: you have 20% crit chance, you luckily crit twice in a row, now for the next few attacks, your crit rate is effectively lowered to compensate for your luck.

The first line indicated that I do. I know it's RNG. Which is why I suggested it be more linear instead. Please read more thoroughly before commenting next time.
