What's going to happen with azir?

Azir has been out of meta for a while and as a fellow azir main, I want to know if there will be any changes with him. Whether it's buffs or even a small rework just to bring my boy back. I don't expect him to be a power house, just enough to where I can play him and he is viable. I know Meddler mention a while ago that they would be doing some changes to him around this time and I just want to know where that is going. It'll be nice to bring my champion back to rift and play him without getting flamed. Thanks.

From what I've heard, its gonna be after the Rek'Sai Rework, which is after the Tank update. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Despite the shit 41% win rate he currently has, I dont believe that a rework is necessary at the moment. I at the very least still have fun playing him. Much like Thresh, he is very rewarding to play once you get his mechanics down. I will welcome any changes to him made by Riot. Also, you get flamed for playing Azir? Feelsbadman.

He's been forgotten pretty much. They don't know how to balance him, so he's sitting until the rework him one day.

Back in 2016 in August in Reddit

Meddler stated that he needs a rework and that his kit is overloaded and whether should they rework him while keeping Shurima Shuffle or in another way while removing Shurima Shuffle.

Been starting to play Azir. He's pretty fun. I don't know if they should rework him or just make a new champion that was designed to be what I think he should be - which is a long ranged AoE DPS mage with zones of control - which is basically a mixture of Orianna (AoE damage) and Cassiopeia (consistent DPS). To me that's the most satisfying play style for a mage/marksman, not shuffling people around. I think if He were to be reworked I would focus on making him able to do just that, Pump out large amount of consistent damage, able to reposition soliders more frequently while leaving him with some self peel without game break or super challenging mechanics which would have horrible winrates at lower tier but amazing at higher ones. In short - replace the shuffle, bump up the damage early on, reduce damage on Q but also reduce cooldown and mana cost. The hardest thing about playing Azir is actually killing someone, poking them down is easy but to get the kill requires a shuffle. Could just replace that with an execute ULT. I'm sure Shurima has archers. and azir is a marksman.... think about it.

If I remember correctly they were still pondering wether to make him a long range poke mage or a zone control mage.

imo i believe he doesn't require a rework, moreover he just requires a slight tune in numbers (maybe ult duration,ult cd, or shield value on e increase .3 ratio anybody?) to become viable again
