It all depends on your play style. Want to have a lot of map presence and good lane point? 
Want to have a lane without tooo much thinking? Want to play a champ that's hard but when it works oh boy it works?

Twisted Fate is only good if you've got a lot of really good map awareness/presence for banking, and he gives up a lot in personal power budget for the roam.
I would personally recommend Zilean or Morgana as mid lanes, 1350 IP, easy entry level, high skill cap.
Just buy anivia and half shot people at lvl 2
