Best option you have is ignoring your teammates' capabilities. You'll notice that champs like Sona when played well are capable of stretching into the game later via the correct build (such as an early Tear and CDR boots instead of penetration). Obviously they're in the elo for a reason, but that just means it falls onto you to make the plays when necessary on the champs you're using.
Sona - early game poke/bullying + scaling, or otherwise scaling when against Alistar.
Brand - against players that can't dodge his skillshots, he is immensely powerful. All you have to do is learn him yourself.
Zyra - poke mage, strong in lower elo for the same reason as Brand, but harder matchups and harder to use.
Blitzcrank - strong for the same reason as the others, but tanky while doing it.
Alistar - when combo'ing squishier champs, he is one of the strongest laners that can spoonfeed your ADC.
And so forth. You have to keep paying attention to what YOUR champion can do at all times and what YOUR win condition is. If you are a support that relies too heavily on a laner, maybe pick up something else that has more presence in the game to cover for a bad ADC. You don't want to just suddenly take farm and invalidate the dude, but at the very least when s/he misperforms, you'll have the capacity to understand that it will not singlehandedly lose you the game.
The support role since it is inherently not too much of a damage role (outside of Zyra/Brand) requires that you be the toughest nut to crack. An example game for myself. Throw city. How to throw a lead. Main reason I even play Sona is because if I was any other champion in this game in particular, I would've likely lost due to how much speed and shielding my team needed to come back from their throwing. Gained no honors and knew I wouldn't get any. These are just the kind of games you need to harden yourself for if you want to play the role.
And DO NOT spam ping out of frustration. You have to prevent your own tilt from being placed onto others and prioritize being damage control if you're going to talk at all. Worst case scenario, mute. If winning is your priority, then do what it takes instead of focusing on teammates.
