Connection between Position in Champ Select and Role?

As a sup main who queues most of the time solo, I noticed there was something strange happening with champ select this season - in short, I seemed to be getting a certain position (the blind pick spot or first draft spot) much more often than random chance would dictate. (And I was noticing this effect across 3 accounts in ranked and normal play.) So, I decided to play a bunch of normal games on my fun account this weekend and I decided to keep track of the draft positions I received (with 1 being the first to choose for the team and 5 being the last).

Note the mode or most common draft spot given - i.e., the first spot. As a support, this is kind of inconvenient and puts support mains at a disadvantage in ranked solo queue and normals. Consequently, I think begs the question. Is this deliberate?
