Anyone else think its super hard to rank up as support main? Im starting to consider to change roles, because i can get S on the game and we still lose ;( If all support change roles to rank up this will cause even longer waiting time on game , and more trolls ....

Nah, if you enjoy it, stick to it. It's still quite possible to carry games.

A friend of mine went from Bronze 4 to Plat 2 in several months playing only Leona support. Supports make plays possible for everyone else.

avoid playing support until mid gold if you are below gold 3 just learn a few carries because in low elo its better to have yourself play a carry instead of supporting somebody that doesn't even know how to kite

While i find it easier when i am playing with an ADC duo, it is entirely possible to rank up as a support. I have been not doing ranked much and so i only have about 60 games in it...... But in those 60 games ive went from bronze 1-2 to silver 2.

The reason why it is easier with an ADC duo is because then you know how eachother plays, and that knowledge alone can help make the difference between winning lane and being able to 2v5 and losing. I have made friends with quite a few people who i have laned with however that were randoms because we were able to 2v5 xD

Because league is based on math. Offensive stats are a + vector, defensive stats are a - vector against the enemy + vector and utility stats are a multiplier for such vectors. That being said, league is a game that has been transformed and shaped into pampering the widest audience possible, along with pushing a shady SJW propaganda.

While you're playing support you're basically like an amplfier, and the other 4 guys are the instruments attached to you. Sure you can clean and mask the sound as much as you can, but in the end if who's playing the music is a complete incompetent moron or the instruments are very poor quality there isn't much you can do. League is a game where we take it for granted that being dogshit it's completely fine, there are even people that think that plat elo is anything near acceptable, i even once had an argument with a D3 guy that thought that veigar is a viable support and athene's is a bad item on karma, this not only makes clear how unskilled you are at the game, but also how little you know about simple math.

Riot thinks it's ok to not know how to play the game and be a retard, because saying mean things it's far far worse, on the internet. (which has been unrightfully and forcefully occupied by corporations that made it their new marketplace at the expenses of whoever was there before them), so we're ended up with a game where it's basically like riding a tandem bicycle for 5 people where 4 people don't have legs, but if you point out the fact that they don't have legs you're basically satan.

My advice is, either be willing to suck all the scum soloQ is and have the patience to grind trough games, because if you're actually good it's just a matter of having time and patience to invest into the game (and the ability to not suffer brain damage when your teammates do the most dumb and irrational shit, which i lack greatly) or find someone you trust to duoQ with, because unless you're in high elo (D2+) playing support and expecting to win is basically masochistic self abuse, especially because even high elo most supports are actually low skill players that just got lucky and got carried their way into diamond.

Now, if i can add my 2 cents, no offense intended, you're probably not a good support as you might think you are, because support is a role that takes a long time and a lot of informations and learning to master, and a good support if he actually knows what he's doing can make the difference and most of the times a good support is way more impactful than the other roles.

You either have to play playmaking supports (e.g. Thresh, Rakan, Bard) in order to carry your team ... or be very good at enchanters and hope ur teammates will play well.

I'm a bronze support main. I had the same experience as you until I switched to carry supports. Now I'm climbing out of bronze. I started with Brand Brand and now play Zyra Zyra with some MissFortune Miss Fortune thrown in from time to time. Thresh Thresh is another good one to learn. I've also heard Sona Sona and Lulu Lulu are carry options, but have little experience with them.

I'm tempted to try some more tank supports, like Gragas Gragas and Nautilus Nautilus, but they might be too reliant on the rest of the team doing damage. I can't wait to get in to gold and can play more supportive supports.

It's not about getting that S though.... it's about supporting your teammates well enough so that they all can get S's too and the best way to do that is to save them from themselves or make plays to give them the opportunity to deal enough damage to be spoonfed kills

Don't listen to people telling you that you need to play a certain champ. As long as the champs you pick have a useful thing they add then they can support well. Work on your game knowledge and start applying it in the game. Game knowledge with a viable support is all you need to start climbing. The better your game knowledge is the higher you will climb.

I don't play support anymore but I did carry myself to gold last season playing support. Although it was only gold. I will admit though if you get good at a carry role it does seem easier to climb quicker. I learned jungle at like a mid gold level so ranking a 2nd account from bronze to gold last season went much quicker playing jungle.

I suspect that it has a lot to do with the consistency of your teammates and the lower you are in the ladder the more inconsistent your teammates are. Due to horrifyingly bad placements (in which I got 8 out of 10 support roles while mid primary, support secondary) where I had a 3 games with a AFK, 3 games with players so bad I suspect account buying or previously boosted, and losing half the games that were actually competitive since the other team played better than me and mine, I ended up starting the season in Silver 5. After climbing out and falling back down divisions repeatedly (something I've never had happen before) because even in game where I did amazing I couldn't get my team to win and the frustration of trying to save my teammates from their own obvious mistakes I switched from taking support at all. That let me climb 4 divisions relatively rapidly and once in Silver 1 I started playing support again which went much better since my teammates were much more reliable - they would follow through on engages, avoid picking incredibly bad fights, occasionally ward, and contribute towards winning the game in general even if they lost their particular lane. I was able to got from Silver 1 to Gold 3 in about a third of the time it had taken me to move up the previous 4 ranks and I'm fully aware that it wasn't because I got any better.

Agreed, especially solo. I play support 99% of the time, getting a duo to communicate for a good synergy helps climb a lot, otherwise you're screwed, because you have higher odds of getting awful teammates. Speaking about low elo.
