I am a Gold 4 support main and I am looking for a fun new support to play in the bot lane It can be off meta as well. I am first and foremost looking for something really fun and satisfying to play but also a support that is viable and can win games. Here's a list of the supports I already play a lot of:

Thresh Blitz Rakan Sona Soraka Leona Malphite Pyke Bard Lux

Let's have some fun with this!

Brand Fiddlesticks

Get Ogre Here7/27/2018, 7:31:12 PM1 votes

Brand is definitely a good choice as he's very strong right now. He's very aggressive in and out of lane because he does a lot of damage and it's very rewarding to hit a good ult in a teamfight.

Brand is likely the most successful support currently. You might also consider Lux since she's maybe the most annoying person to lane against.

For off-meta, try Zilean. Max his E first and let the games begin.

Herlgar7/27/2018, 7:58:35 PM1 votes

Zilean is so fun. Save lives, troll enemies with baits, blow people up, crazy AOE stuns, roam at the speed of light, make allies so fast and enemies so slow for SO long... He's great.

To me he's a great mix of utility and damage.

Kennen support is surprisingly fun, especially when paired with someone like MissFortune

MalrothDragonia7/27/2018, 8:02:21 PM1 votes

Teeeeeemo. so much fun, and you can tilt people super hard.

Poppy but she falls off late game Nami is good in general Velkoz is fun, a bit like lux but you get true damage so you can buy more utility stuff Nautilus but he's kind like blitz and thresh, but with more tank and less playmaking, since he can't hook through walls Nunu because poking is fun, and he gives roids

just about any tank works though.

Shmeeve7/27/2018, 8:50:09 PM1 votes

always pick Pyke

Hi there,

I'm just a silver player. But sometimes I like to take VeigarVeigar I like his CC (you don't even need to hit) and big damage. Probably not viable in all matchups though.

NoPaxt7/27/2018, 9:08:23 PM1 votes

Nami A healer that can carry lane and control/win team fights. Velkoz A really good poke mage that can poke through minions (w) and has a displacement (e). Nautilus Most under rated tank sup. He has a hook, a shield, AoE, and a multiplayer knock up. Zyra Has two roots and is fun to play. Can zone/poke/kill enemy champs with her plants.

I've somewhat recently picked up Taric and haven't had much but good plays since. Fiddlesticks is a pick my friend tried, and I really don't know if it was him or not (he swears he hadn't seen any videos or anything before doing it), but it became a thing. Pretty viable too. Braum is pretty weak rn, but can be fun to play if you get him right.

Morgana - frequently strong, flexible.

I don't find her super fun but she's just dandy when the enemy team takes a bunch of engage-knockups (malphite, rakan, yasuo)

I'm all LeonaThreshRakanLux myself, and you should have a similar skillset to me. Morgana will hard-counter these champions (as well as Blitz and Malhpite) when you know what skillshots to look for- and I have no doubt you do.

even though i prefer leona as a champion, in the support position my favourite has always been nautilus. He's got great engage and lockdown. Do realise, you'll most likely build NO damage and carrying becomes hard because of this. He's also quite weak right now, make sure to abuse the laning phase. Easiest hook in the game once you learn it's broken hitbox..

Fiddle, i've been playing it support for a while now, and it has recently become one of the best support picks so be sure to give it a shot. Your ult can easily secure a double and your poke is obnoxious as hell. Your fear is quite good peel but single target which you AND your adc need to keep in mind.

Poppy is an option too, though i play her jungle i have tried her as support with sucess. Great to counter dash champs like alistar or pyke.

Singed can be played support. Quick heads up, your team is either gonna love you or hate you, no inbetween. dont take this to ranked if you don't play alot of singed tho.

Annie is probably one of my best supports too but for reasons that might not be what you're looking for. let's just say i used to play alot of adc in blind pick and i don't take role stealing like a cuckboi, that's my doublekill now. either way you have great cc early on (lvl 1 double stun) and become quite a monster if you can get some items. she is also capable of beefing up with HP AP items if needed and i don't know the exact interaction but even abyssal mask can be used by her as she's quite deadly when she get's in your face.

Alex h87217/28/2018, 3:53:59 AM1 votes

Nami is great, can do a lot, heal/poke in one skill, basic attack boost, and 2 solid CCs that can easily peel an engage.

HalcyonDweller7/28/2018, 4:14:20 AM1 votes

Nami is fun, most effective vs poke because she can trade with them and sustain herself and her ally.

Poppy is fun, most effective vs champions that are dependent on mobility / engage, such as Leona, Alistar, Rengar, Wukong and various other divers and vanguards.

Lost R7/28/2018, 4:19:05 AM1 votes

That depends on what you are looking for.

Lulu: Little bit of everything. Syncs well with DPS ADCs and assassins. Nami: Healing, crowd control, poke. All spells increase ally speed. Braum: Blocks ranged attacks. Thresh: Anti-escape kit and the blessed/damned lantern. Bard: Lots of roaming and strategic. AOE Hourglass effect. Tons of burst damage. Rakan: Lots of tactical mobility, shielding and crowd control. Very little pushing strength. Vel'Koz: Artillery support. LOTS of range on the enemy. Alistar: Stuns out the wazoo. Difficult to kill. Siege-grade healing. Taric: Combat medic. Lots of shielding. Syncs best with Kalista. Karma: Burst mage. Pretty good utility and crowd control.

singed

Wacky97/28/2018, 6:46:33 AM1 votes

I used to duo with someone who was great at Tahm Kench, but with the support nerfs I wouldn't recommend him.

Yorick can be an excellent support too and he synergizes excellently with Renmant of the Aspect. Just use Q with Spoils up and get free graves without taking CS. He can't roam well but he can split-push the hell out of a lane whether he builds tank or damage. Singed support isn't bad either but it requires a lot of charging down the adc and flipping them so if this isn't your thing, don't play him. Yasuo support is half-decent if you don't build damage because it is satisfying to constantly be able to knock people up and block their attacks. The lack of mana gives him an advantage over other supports and if you need some extra damage you can deal it, which is an option most supports don't have. Anivia support is good just because of the CC and the impassable wall. Ivern support is a weird thing to do, but you can get double value from it by protecting lane and pissing off an enemy jungler. His kit is good for supporting, as he has a root that allows you to dash to the targeted champion and a shield that explodes and slows for extra value. His brush is good for taking objectives and just endlessly pissing off your enemy support. Regular Ivern support with flash heal (or exhaust) is boring, so to maximize on the fun you need to take smite and roam Bard style to steal the enemies buffs. It's difficult but it takes you less than five seconds to take down an enemy buff and gets you lots of value. (Don't die in lane, especially if you take the enemies red buff. Feeding that to an adc is a painful mistake) Ivern support with Green smite was truly the greatest of builds but now that it is literally impossible you should just grab a jungle item and then support items for the rest of the game. Truly annoying to play against, but you need to be comfortable with knowing how to easily steal an enemies buff. Plus you get pretty good early game gold value for this and a fair amount of XP. Make sure your adc is comfortable with you leaving lane on a semi-regular basis. Even if you hate this playstyle you can tilt a jungler without losing lane.

In summary: If you're feeling adventurous but you don't want to leave a traditional support kit behind, try Ivern support with smite. Hours of fun.

Gragas This fatso is broken down there. You can go full AP like brand, or full tank. Your Q lets your carry follow up with poke, probably letting you chunk their carry for half their health. Gragas, being a tank by default has a slow, and 2 disruption abilities. It's very nice for a support. Your general combo is w, e and q at the same time, then r right behind them. In most situations, you'll chunk their health, fling them towards your carry, and fling the support back so they can't assist the carry. This combo just obliterates every squishy carry. If you fight a bruiser, it's better to just go tank. You do the same stuff but you just can't hurt anyone. I say full AP is better though.

Lulu Zyra are both very fun and can both win bottom lane on their own! Don't really need the adc

Herlgar7/28/2018, 9:31:20 PM1 votes

I've been experimenting a bit with Pantheon support as well (hear me out here). It works surprisingly well. Good poke, good initiate with stun, his shield protects him from enemy ADC if you choose to murder the support... With current support items gold isn't even much of a problem. His ult is also useful for team presence and allows you to go back to lane quickly if the ADC's in a pickle.

When they added Pyke , little did they know we already had an assassin support!
