Here is how it is currently, you could dumpster him in lane. But after 2 items and boots, he becomes unkillable, able to 1vs1 you since his e damage scales with armor. With , at level 13, he gets 72 free armor from his W passive when its level 1 and his Granite shield (every 6 seconds after not taking damage) is up, having 306 armor and manages to be more useful in teamfights due to having one of the best Ults in the game.

He is averaging above 55% winrate against most AD champions even when he is behind in gold at 15 minutes and he isn't even bad against AP champions. The W passive is too strong imo, i also think that shield cooldown is too low.

item 3036 ? item 3153 item 3031 item 3095 ?????? basically your best options to Malphite. LDR alone essentially removes Malph's W passive, and once youve broke his shield (whic should take liek 1-2 autos max) he loses all that bonus armor.

Top laners complaining about range matchups beating you? Malphite is your guy. Oh, but theyre AP ranged carries you said?

I think a part of his issue (similar to Akali and other AP/peudo-AD types) is not only do they deal a lot of damage, they deal it as both types. That makes it impossible to build against as a tank, because as soon as you build armor, he can just itemize and max his magic abilities, and vice versa.

So, as an ad champ don't try to fight him after he has his Armor core items b/c you can't. Farm up and try to kill his backline in teamfights.

I mean, this is like me picking yasuo, the enemy picking rammus jg then me overextending and complaining rammus keeps ganking me.

Countering AD is what malphite is supposed to do and has always done when he builds tank, this is not new. That said the difference w/ Malph and other tanks is malphs only Hard CC/engage is on his R, other more generalist tanks have a lot more CC ( Nautilus Ornn Sion ).

If malph did not have this strength vs AD champs there would be very very little reason to pick him.

so a champ designed to be good vs ad comps is good vs ad comps and this is a problem?

i thought it was AP malphite that was the issue ?
