Nuances of Mobi Boots

If a champion deals indirect damage ie Cait/Nidalee Traps, Shaco boxes and (of course) Teemo Shrooms does that proc the removal of Move Speed for Mobility Boots. If so why, and is there a way to make it so yuo have to deal damage within a radius to proc this.

Scenario time: Fight is breaking out near the new buffed Dragon, Jungle Shaco is headed towards the Dragon pit when the enemy top lane is caught by a Box near the Blue Raptors. Shaco loses movespeed and is late getting into the fight, Red engages to try and force Blue off dragon. Blue team is able to secure the objective with a well timed smite and turn the fight which is a 5v4 due to shaco losing his movespeed, shaco comes in late and dies.

While not a game ending consequence a 6v5 (Shaco Clone) could have turned the fight secured the Dragon and allowed momentum. It seems to me that actual combat (potential damage from both parties) should cause the mobi drop off not distant damage dealing of Pets traps and utility abilities.

Yes, it should remove the Mobi bonus I believe. A champion is defined as being in or out of combat based on how long it's been since they took damage. Being affected by an enemy ability would put them back in combat, even if the enemy is nowhere near. Although if there's an enemy Teemo I daresay that you should probably take Merc Treads over Mobi Boots.

Again, yes it would remove the movement bonus. Shaco has dealt damage to an enemy, and so is back in combat even if he's actually all alone in the middle of a jungle route. If he weren't defined as being in combat when a box on the other side of the map happened to kill a low health enemy who walked into a bush to back, he wouldn't get any credit for the kill. It would count as simply being executed, but then Shaco isn't rewarded for his box placement, part of the skill with playing Shaco.
