I loved Wukong for 7 years, but he needs change (rework concept link at bottom)
I never saw a problem with Wukong because of the way I used him, regularly keeping a 55%+ win rate and always reaching low-mid diamond (then immediately getting smacked down to P4 on a giant lose streak with boosted teammates every game before climbing again).
Me not thinking there was a problem with Wukong is due to my ignorance.
When I first started playing League, Wu was labeled a tank/fighter (the only other being J4 at the time) then was later changed to fighter/tank, leaving J4 lonely as the only AD in the category before Poppy was reworked.
With that said my Wukong in earlier seasons was always
with a lot of flexibility on the last item. My alternate build was
with a lot of flexibility on the last item. Remember there was no
and GA used to give armor and mr.
His kit screamed tank to me in the same way that it does for
I'd WE to a squishy, Q their tank, then start my ult on all 5 enemies, having a decent mix of damage/resistances(+passive)/sustain to be a suicide diver and live.
This was the way I used him.
After all these years, for the first time I watched his champion spotlight video and got a reality check. His kit was actually always designed to be the glass cannon he was always built as. Which is why I now understand the infinite criticism I've been getting my whole league career.
Wukong's core item has always been
with
always being built before the crit changes to the items. Wukong's actual design has always been to 1 shot the strongest enemy carry and use R as an escape tool, not a team fight engage tool (as I ignorantly thought). His EQ plus crit chance and lifesteal allowed him to duel any carry and win.
After learning this, I immediately went to practice tool and discovered...
A Wukong with
still has more instant burst and sustained damage than a Wukong with
2 reasons duskblade is taken over Triforce with lesser damage in mind (272 bonus damage with TF and 200 with DB) 900 gold Cheaper Ward detection (Teemo shroom detection, Shaco box detection)
Now that I actually fully understand Wukong's kit with his design intent in mind, I agree that it's horrible design (and understand why I've always been flamed for not building Triforce, Duskblade, Stormrazor). My "glass cannon" build is
(which still instantly kills any squishy with Electrocute/Predator/DH). I decide on what to build Tiamat into as a final item based off enemy team comp (more health or more sustain).
Other champs I love are
& old
old
because I like being able to be a threat to the whole enemy team at once.
My bans are always

Taking all this into consideration, it should be obvious that I'd hate to see Wukong reworked into a single target OS champ as he was designed to be and would prefer if they leaned more towards a vanguard approach, keeping his ult, adjusting the rest of his kit.
