What if
was partially reverted, gaining back the old passive giving +50% crit dmg, but removed the raw 20% crit chance (like how current IE has no crit on its own)? No doubling crit either, just a nerfed old IE but w/o the +20% crit. Because it wouldn't have crit, to make the most of it you'd have to buy crit, you won't be able to rush it 1st item like in pre 8.11, but can still be a somewhat viable 2nd item. It still forces you to have to buy a
which has less crit chance (15% instead 20% pre 8.11) and costs more.
Pre 8.11 Zeal + IE = 40% crit chance (minus other stats).
My proposal would make the 1.5 items have only 15% crit from live Zeal but have the old IE passive of +50% crit dmg, WITHOUT doubling the crit chance and true dmg conversion. If it still does too much dmg vs squishies, can always lower the amount of AD the item gives or make the passive only deal 25% bonus crit dmg instead of +50%
Edit: quick reminder, Cloak of Agility is also removed as well as Brawler's gloves more expensive + unique passive.
