This whole ADC top lane deal is getting very frustrating to deal with

This is just my personal opinion, as I think diversity across multiple lanes is a good thing. But this is just getting ridiculous to deal with.

  • As someone who loves to play Juggernaut tops (Mord, Darius, Garen, Sion, Etc) I can accept that these champions have clear windows of strengths and weaknesses. Kiting and CC generally being their downfall. But with the recent rise of ADC's spewing across top lane, its made it a nightmare to even select them now. I feel like whenever I first pick any of these champions, they enemy abuses how unfun and what feels unfair ADCs top. Graves, Lucian, to an extent Quinn. I understand a ranged will out poke and out cs a immobile top laner, but the sheer amount of damage and burst they do makes the entire laning phase feel like I have absolutely ZERO room to outplay.

Played a match as Garen, enemy goes Lucian. Was literally unable to cs at all until my jungler ganked for me, but losing half my hp to just contest a single minion feels absurd. Whether I start dorans shield, cloth 4, even corrupting it doesn't seem to matter. With how much damage is in the early game now with these champions, I don't ever have time to itemize before they have snowballed into oblivion off cs alone. I guess what I'm trying to say is it feels immobile top laners stand absolutely no chance against the ADC onslaught top, and its making it harder and harder to want to go top with the rise of my opponents spamming Graves/Quinn/Lucian top over and over.

It could be I just don't know how to properly handle a ranged top vs immobile top matchup, but to me it feels far to one sided to even feel fun or rewarding. Would be interested to hear everyone else's thoughts.

Well thats why Juggernaut meta lasted so short. They are basically useless against anything range. Doesnt matter if its ADC. Lulu, Lissandra, Gnar, Ryze everything counters them. Dont pick those useless champs like Garen, Illaoi, Darius if u are not last pick and if opponent picks any kind of CC

Here is a tip: Try to force an all in early, most marksmen have low base hp/armor and most bruisers have higher hp/armor. Use flash to engage if necessary.

So's playing against melee champions who completely destroy you because "Screw you, I win lane." Maybe people wouldn't resort to playing ranged champions against juggernauts if they didn't counter every melee top laner in the game. Also, Sion is a tank. His damage output falls off heavily as the game goes on, and he provides crap tons of CC. His title is undead juggernaut, but he's not actually one

A lot of this really depends how you play the lane. Unless you are facing a Caitlyn Caitlyn there's really not many Marksman who can compete with the majority of common top laners wave clearing in the early levels. If you are facing Lucian as Garen, start E, shove him under tower and ward up. As long as he doesn't get a good freeze on you, it will be a while before he'll be in a good position to deal a large amount of harass without missing farm. You won't be much threat to him early, so why allow him to shove you under tower and beat on you? You'll definitely miss some CS having him constantly under tower, but that's far more worthwhile than the amount of damage you're going to eat with him constantly harassing you.

This goes for just about any ranged champion that you'll ever see Top. Kennen Quinn Teemo Vayne Ryze Karma Cassiopeia

None of these guys have great early wave clear and they can really mess you up early. Best bet as melee is just shoving them under tower until you can build items to deal with them.
