Why is ranked placement the way it is?

It really adds to all of the frustrating parts of league. You get paired with people who are on a losing streak (I looked at my teammates match history so this is the case at least for me and I have heard from other people that this happens). The one constant in all of these game is me, yes, but there is another constant: people who are on a losing streak. Losing streaks affect players in the following ways: they may be on tilt and any little thing can set them off and push them over the edge of toxicity, they enter games with a different attitude as a normal player would, they may have given up on their routine champions and be trying out a new champion. All of these things combine to make ranked placement a nightmare. It's not really a true testament of skill vs. skill, it's more can you win with a higher likelihood that you will have trolls on your team? GL?! Thank goodness we have the new system that grants you a free win upon reentering placement matches.
