Vayne is weak.

Vayne is currently the only "late-game" adc that has a trash early game and takes some brain-power to use.

Her team-fighting is terrible, her laning is terrible, the only thing she is good at is 1v1's IF she's ahead of the enemy.

There is no point in the game where Vayne is good in the current meta. Her range is too short, her tumble is trash, her E is too buggy, and her ult has too long of a cooldown and not enough of an ad steroid.

The only Marksmen that you shouldn't pick over Vayne are possibly Sivir and Ashe (Not counting Urgot or Teemo as marksmen.) And even those two have something that makes them unique or good in teamfights.

With the meta being centered around teamfights and Vayne literally being the only adc that cannot teamfight well, she has no way of being viable. Yes, I acknowledge there are streamers like hiimgosu, Doublelift, and more that are able to play her well. But even they will tell you she is weak compared to everyone else in the game.

From my own personal experinces, I'm only able to win as Vayne if my opponents are terrible or if my team is hard-carrying me. Even when I hardcore win my lane, I feel weak and useless compared to other ads.

TL;DR: Vayne is weak and needs to be looked into for a rework/buffs.

Edit: When you give the argument that she can go invisible, a well placed pinkward or upgraded red trinket will solve that problem easily. She also cannot build the two best first items (IE and TF) or she will have even less damage because she relies on auto attacks to proc her W.

I agree, she's not in the best spot at the moment. She, however, has a couple of things she does well. If she doesn't misplay or panic condemn or tumble in the wrong direction, she can outduel almost any champion in the game. Her skirmishing ability is really good and that's somewhat 80% of all fights in soloQ.

Her weakness isn't her range only. Though it's a part of what makes her weak, the real issue is that she is the only marksman who loses damage on switching targets by not being able to proc her w.

If she was to be nerfed/buffed, I'd like to see a total rework on silver bolts. They are too powerful mid-game vs bruisers who have their strong points at there, but too insignificant late since all the damage will outscale defensive stats due to critical strikes being so powerful.

Teamfight is terrible, but that bullsh*t 1v5 doe. Still needs nerfs on her W.

Vayne actually has a decent Early-Game. If she pins someone against a wall, it's going to hurt. She also can dodge skillshots somewhat reliably and at little cost to her.

As for the rest of it, she is still very strong. She shreds tanks like nobody's business, and on top of being good at duels, can be hard to hit. She also has an average range compared to other carries (550 is the general "average") and then also gets a move speed boost moving towards champions. So not sure what you are talking about.

As for the two best "first items," that's for other carries. BoRK IS the best first item for Vayne: sustain, decent slow, and %health shred on top of her W passive. Not everyone has the same build path (Before adc itemization, Tristana always rushes IE, while most other carries rushed BT or BoRK.)

I used to main Vayne, and I guess I could say I still do, at least when I adc, and she'll always have a place in my heart, but you're completely right. The problem is all of her abilities are unique to her as a champion and big buffs might make her a bit too over-the-top in terms of power. So it's hard to decide what to do with her.
