trynd and the new smite!

I have been told by several players, including one that was in a game with me, but on the other team, that the new smite that does true damage and slows will kill trynd through his ulti. I plan on testing it tonight once i have a chance, but just wanted to bring it up so that hopefully it can be fixed.
