Jungle in Season 5 is a large nerf, even with proposed changes on PBE

       So the whole mantra of the jungle coming into the preseason was choices, they wanted to give you more decisions to make throughout the game as the jungler. For example, choosing a camp to smite to get a unique buff, or trying to kill scuttle crab to give your solo laners more roaming potential/better drag baron control. This was an overall success by far. I now retroactively have to think about where and how I use my smite. Do I use it now on gromp for poison armor to clear faster or do i clear gromp chug a pot and gank bot lane with my smite. 

      However this comes with more than a few major pains when dealing with objectives after smite was introduced as a fighting tool (and with that a 15 second increase on the cooldown). If you ever win a fight at dragon or baron and its not a clean ace **and you used your smite** there is a major liability of it being stolen. So many times my team will win a clear decisive dragon fight 4 to 1 or what have you only to have dragon stolen by lux laser or jinx zap or a lot of times an aoe ability that cannot be blocked. This is beyond frustrating and really really inhibits me using smite for what i upgraded it to do, be used on champions. 

           Now onto how jungle is right now in a very very bad spot unless your name is warwick or maybe xin/fiddle. The jungle in season 4 had the highest impact on the game in almost any scenario, i will admit. A lot of lanes could be single handedly won by a jungler constantly paying visit. This isnt right, the lane shouldnt be solely decided by the jungler unless the laner is being very unaware of jungler ganks. So i can understand how Rito would want the jungle to pack a punch so you have some more decisions to make rather than gank, get conservation stacks, gank again, and so forth. 

             The way the jungle is right now in its current iteration i am almost always at least 1.5-2 levels down sometimes even more-so when the solo lane in question is fed. This is compounded even more by the fact that my gold income gives me very little dueling capability with any champion other than a support or an equally starved jungler. Being 2 levels down means i cant make any plays on either solo lane without being most likely killed by the person im trying to gank, most likely a 1 shot by most popular tops/mids right now. In my previous game earlier today i was master yi, and my mid went to roam bot so i sat under tower. Their yasuo was 1-0 and had a statik shiv and was level 9 probably halfway to 10. I was level 7 and just got devourer, i was 2-0 at this point. No boots, nothing else other than devourer, **and i was two levels down**. I couldnt even hold the tower. This is unacceptable. 

              The gold changes on the PBE arent enough ( about a 10 gold increase on large monsters with your smite upgraded) to help junglers that do damage. Damage based junglers will not be able to survive in this new jungle where they have no gold to buy items, and no levels to duel anything. Tank cc bots or early game fighters will be all thats played, mostly the latter because champions like kha, nocturne, yi, etc need gold and levels to be able to perform in their roles. I just don't see how reducing the duration on blue/red buff, increasing spawn times, removing conservation, and making the jungle hurt like a bitch is compensated by a 20% camp gold increase and a 10 gold increase on large monster kills. Granted the conservation items were a little gold inefficient because of conservation you still got way more gold than now. 

             In my opinion there should be some bonus versus monsters for having smite/jungle item. For instance you buff all the jungle monsters damage by about 30% making it very punishing for solo laners to take jungle, and have smite let you take 30% less damage from jungle monsters. That example is flawed but something needs to be done, XP from camps needs to be increased across the board as does gold otherwise damage based junglers wont be viable ( as much as im sure tank jungle mains from s4 like to hear this). 

TL;DR in order to promote champion diversity in the jungle/overall jungle success or usefulness gold and XP need to be increased across the board.

riot has no fkn clue

they left top lane alone which is the only lane that needed fixing and decided to make the jungle more complex and difficult for no reason

all they needed to do was revert the very last feral flare nerf, buff ancient golem a little bit and fix the fkn top lane

If Riot buffs jungle items any further, you'll see 5 smites every game.

Riot needs to implement that thing from Dawngate where you choose a role in champ select and it affects your ingame stats. There could be one support slot and one jungle slot and the jungler gains smite benefits and the support can't get gold by last hitting but gets gold when allies last hit.
