Look, Here's the Thing...

At this point, I would be more than happy to see Riot stop releasing new champions for awhile. Are new champions fun? Yes. But playing a new champion is both pointless and no fun when you just get swamped by the old champions that Riot can't get under control. You've reworked several champions again and again at this point... Xin is now completely insane... Yi is still a monster, and Zed is ridiculous, just to name a literal few.

If you're willing to get rid of an entire game mode just to "free up resources", I would assume that not having to rework the same champion over and over would save you some freaking resources.

I would much rather play a game with some sort of actual balance instead of "play who is good right now or lose" than have some shiny new champ that will forever be more underpowered than a first season nonsense.

**EDIT: In no way shape or form am I saying "take people out of the design team and put them in balance". My point is that it would probably be nice if the balance team didn't have to take time every patch to try and balance a new champion, when there are old champs that haven't even been looked at in a super long time. **

I agree, I wouldn't mind a lack of new champions if riot would get their act together and actually try to balance the game.

Also, I agree, I'd rather not have new champs and instead have more focus on reworks and balancing. The last 2 champions are amazing thematically and mechanically, but extremely lacking in power compared to the oppressive slew of champs that are currently around, therefore not fun to play because who likes to be beat up on by stuff your kit is simply not designed to counteract.

Edit: If it was designed by Riot to find out what mechanisms in the game dominate and are in dire need of tuning then they have done a good job of locating the major failing. High mobility champs are the absolute best in the game generally speaking, and will punish anyone without a mobility skill heavily, there is a reason Lucian, Riven, Lee Sin, Zed, Yasuo, Fiora and the like are the most played and popular champs currently. The only exceptions to this are when a champion has extreme burst and safety (Gangplank) or unfair amounts of sustain and stickiness with good damage (Mundo), but both of those have been or will be nerfed hard. So the real culprit really is high mobility wall hopping madness, give it to more champs or increase the CD of the champs who have it when they use it to engage by increasing the CD of mobility skills greatly and give them passives that reduce their CD for each second they spend not attacking or doing damage, then they'll be more balanced, in my opinion.

You do know that the new champions are from a completely different team right?

You have the concept team.

AND the balance team.

You can't move the concept team to the baLance team because they were hired for their creativity.

You ever read the patch notes? Jesus

Xin isn't completely insane

Fiora was reworked once I recall.

It's hilarious because back in the day we had a new champion on live EVERY TWO WEEKS. We had 5 champions released in 2015, that's nothing compared to what it used to be. For reference:

2015 - 5 2014 - 6 2013 - 8 2012 - 19 2011 - 24 2010 - 24 2009 - 25 + the original 17

You think it's too many, too fast now? Try just getting to grips with a broken AF Vayne on release, then 2 weeks later Riot throws a wrench in the works that is Orianna, who also happened to be overpowered as fuck on release. People cried back then and it was justified, because back then they we're going for quantity over quality which meant everything was either broken or unplayable.

Speaking as someone who has played since the Irelia/Trundle patch, I'd say the game is more balanced right now than it's ever been, and a new champion every 2-3 months doesn't affect that in the slightest, if anything it keeps the game fresh.

I understand your frustration. I use to feel the same way during preseason 3.

However as I got better I realized more and more that their are fewer and fewer champs that are unbeatable especially in bronze. The higher up you go what you say is true but even then it isn't entirely true.

Even the champs you mentioned are far from insane. Master Yi can get insane if you let him. Same with Zed and Xin. However you can still either pick champions or play in ways where their impact is marginal. The best thing for you to do is to get better and learn the game more. This truly seems to be a situation where you don't have as firm of a grasp on why certain things are beating you and then claim they are OP. I would recommend trying to learn why you are losing to them instead of claiming they are op.

THIS sums up my complaints

So Riot should fire or lay off several employees who work on Concepts so that the Balance team can catch up. Sure.
