Weekly reminder that climbing the ranked ladder is possible

Everyone wants to rank up and think there an xxx rank of a player. Through many seasons and many ranked games I know roughly what my actual elo is and have been able to prove it time and time again. Since I am a low elo player this is a low elo example but the same should be overall true for all ranks.

This Account: Like many I have always thought that I am "at least a gold player" in league. After being stuck in silver a couple of seasons and ending season 5 in silver 1, I finally made gold during preseason. At the start of season 6 I dropped to silver 5 and within the first month was back in silver 1 and had a shot at gold promos but failed :(. Although I still believe I am a gold player I still have some work to do this season to prove that. So for now lets call me a silver 1 player. FYI: I mainly have played fill so therefore support on this account this season. I had a 57% -58% the first month or two of the season but once I got into silver 1 I have started losing more and got demoted a couple of times. This is a sign your playing at your elo.

My alternate account: I use this account more for fun and playing with a little lower elo friends. But more just for trying different champions out on. I ended season 5 in silver 3, dropped to bronze 2 and now am in silver 2 with a 57% win%. I feel getting that account into silver 1 won't take much longer and hoping to get gold on both accounts sometime soon. I play mainly mid and support on this account with even more basic runes than my main.

From these two examples what I am trying to show is this. People complain all the time about "elo hell" and being "stuck" at a certain rank. A lot of players can't get past silver 3-5 and I find those ranks super easy to get past. Other players (such as myself) struggle desperately to try and get gold while others quickly rank up to plat, diamond, or higher with multiple accounts. What I am trying to portrait is... if you are stuck at a certain rank and can't rank up it is more than you having afkers, flammers, trolls, etc. Everyone is going to have those one time or another and this should even out over time with many games played. So even though you want to get pissed at your teammates at the end of the day the only way you will rank up is if you focus on yourself and your play. If you keep blaming others you will never reach your actual elo or get past your actual elo.

Hope this helps.
