anivia q acts like ground taget aoe instead of skillshot

Recently, anivia's flashfrost got a targeting reticle/partical change, primarily just adding a area indicator for the stun explosion. However, this also changed the behavior of the skill. It now acts more like a ground target aoe, like chogath q, where if it is outside the spell range you will approach in order to cast the spell. However, the spell itself is very much a skillshot, and the direction of travel and quick reaction are much more important to its successful use than being in correct range. This change overall makes the skill a little counter-intuitive, especially since the explosion on the spell has no reaction to where you target it. It was far better before the change when it acted as a simple direction-pointed skillshot.

The targeting indicator is an improvement on the old one, but there was no reason to change the behavior, and it should be reverted back to the behavior of basically every other skillshot in the game.

I will +1 but I lack the experience necessary on Anivia to have a real opinion. I do know it used to function more like a Ezreal Q skillshot instead of a cho' gath rupture.

Anivia really doesn't need any more help when it comes to harassing or destroyig her enemies. Seriously, this champion has insane wave clear and single target burst. In late game, she wins almost all 1 v 1 straight fights and even if it is a M.A.D. situation, her passive could save her.

I find it really frustrating to lane against an Anivia post level 6. It costs her less mana to wave clear somehow than it does for me when I play other waveclear champions such as Ahri, Annie, or Lux.

It is a bug. But Riot did correct it with the last hot fix, so you will likely have to wait until the next patch.
