Getting Clarity on Cleanse
Cleanse, a spell forgotten since the times Amumu roamed the jungles, where CC was king, and CC meant death. Now it has come where 1 in 150 games you will find somebody using it. But what if the reason they picked it was because they were misinformed by what it actually can do? The definition of what Cleanse does is quote, "Removes all disables and summoner spell debuffs affecting your champion and lowers the duration of incoming disables by 65% for 3 seconds." Now to experience players it is known the limitations of Cleanse, but to a new player, who just receives it at level 2, still figuring out what is a Baron Nashor, there is one word in there that can trick and give a bad light on the spell: All. In reality we sadly have figured in trial and error that Cleanse does not, in fact, cleanse All debuffs (if it did QSS would be almost worthless) Displacements, Suppresses, and none CC debuffs like Death Mark are impossible to Cleanse without QSS, yet in Champ select, we are promised that Cleanse is our 'get out of jail free' card, when in reality results may vary. Riot has stated that the player should be fighting the player not the game, but does it make sense if the game is allowed to trick you and give the opponent a quick lead from a First Blood or loss in a important Summoner Spell? And if we are giving deceiving spells so early, how will it impact the new players and how they view this spell? Will it slowly become just as 'useless' as Clarity, or will it be come as obsolete as Revive?
Riot, please update Cleanse and its Description.
