Is Aurelion even worth playing?

What are your thoughts on the champion's viability? In my opinion, I think he'd be difficult due to the fact he's reliant on a static position for his attack, but becomes an issue when you get champions that can gap close (which are plentiful) and can't peel them off without ultimate since Q has a delay.

If he is viable, how should he be played? I heard rumors that he can be played as an AP bruiser, but never seen it myself.

He is a very beautiful champion with great taunt/joke / recall animations etc. He is also pretty viable with his W, constantly doing damage to multiple enemies.

That being said I dont enjoy him, his playstyle is very passive/ position based. I like playing divers/ brawlers instead. But he is really nice looking and well made.

I enjoy playing him, he's a fun champ with a different playstyle from my usual ilk.

Aurelion sol can get pretty tanky with a few items, he's a MASSIVE lane bully and the enemy is as good as dead if they don't have summoner 1 to stop your Q from stunning them. Overall, he's great at mid range - long range combat but he's one of the worse mages in dealing with assassins with gapclosers. His Q is very hard to dodge though, the only way to do it is to like flash out of it or something. He's pretty good at ganking and roaming because of his E but his waveclear isn't the best but not too bad either. When playing him, don't farm with your stars. Auto attacking is better. You can't go all in until you have enough mana to sustain your W for a while so try to play passive for a few minutes so you can buy a mana item. In teamfights I think he'd be good at doing sustained damage to the frontline to get to the backline easier. Getting ignite is a bad idea for him, exhaust or barrier is a better choice. Maybe ghost.

I think he's pretty viable. I go these itemsitem 3030 item 3009 item 3116 item 3089 item 3135 and item 3151 or some other item depending on who i'm facing. I bring these summoner spells summoner 6 summoner 4 and go 12/18/0 bringing the Stormraiders Surge mastery. He does get pretty tanky and is acutally pretty mobile with this build, but if you let melees get into your little solar system, you're probably gonna die if you don't have your hextech item up.
