Auto-fill changes

Recently, I have been doing my best to climb out of silver. However, with me not being the best player to begin with, auto-fill has been reducing my chances to climb more and more. I believe there should not be forced auto-fill because of the number of problems it causes. As many people have complained, why is there even role selection if auto-fill is going to be used? If every 3-4 games we are going to get a role we didn't want in the first place, the old system made it so that at least you didn't feel robbed because you chose the roles you wanted, then were told to play something else. The old system wasn't flawless by any means, but the implementation of auto-fill makes just as bad, at least in my opinion.

I have a few ideas for solutions. Obviously riot has no intention of removing auto-fill, so perhaps making there a way to opt out of it for a longer Que time would be a way to fix this. I'm sure that I am not the only one, but I would personally rather wait 5-10 extra minutes to get into a game than to waste 20 or more because of auto-fill giving me or one of my teammates a role we are not comfortable with.

Another possible solution could be to reduce LP loss OR increase LP gain when you get auto-filled. After all, if you are forced to play a role that you are not entirely comfortable with, further punishment is not exactly fair. At the same time, if you do well with a role that you did not want to play, or at least are able to help your team to victory, then I feel that you should get some sort of bonus for it.

If anyone has any other ideas, or reasons why these are not viable, please let me know. Thanks for taking the time to read this and have a great day!

you must have missed the pick order that we had before season 6. You would be considered a fool, and not ready for ranked if you couldn't play ever role passably. But Everyone got spoiled because of season 6 DQ, (unless you were of high ELO) and yet we pressured Riot to split the player base further. (But if any of you think DQ was better than the current system, by all means let me know)

Lastly, if you understand the bottlenecking effect, you would probably realize that a 5 or 10 extra minutes is not guaranteed, rather the wait time would just balloon up indefinitely. Now I'm not sure about the current system, but the previous system activated Autofill if expected wait times exceeded a certain threshold. If it's activated, you could pretty much be certain that you were looking at 20+ minutes if it wasn't.

I think that it should, when it finds a group, first tell anyone who has been autofilled before notifying anyone else that the game was notified what role they will get. From there, they can accept or decline to play the role. Accepting counts as an automatic accept for the AFK check and an IP boost for the next 3 wins. Declining puts you back in queue with no penalty, but of course you don't get the IP boost.

Optional autofill was tried during the entirety of season 6. It didn't work. There's a good chance that autofill bonuses would result in an increase in trolls without the proper monitoring measures (stuff like autofilled holds select hostage or doesn't really try 'cause protected by the autofill bubble.)
