How's Orianna at the moment?

I was wondering about her as I have heard that she is not worth playing at the moment but I like the champion. Orianna I also like her winter wonder skin but it is unavailable because it's a snowdown skin and my mystery gift chances are too low.

Orianna is one of those champions that has such a solid kit she will always be good, it's just the matter of whether the meta let's her shine at the moment. SDhe complements any AoE teamfight team exceptionally well but brings enough damage and utility to be useful with most anyone.

The only real catch is that she is difficult to pick up, because you have to keep your auto attacks up in laning to poke without burning too much mana, as well as keeping track of both her and her ball's location at all times, including very hectic teamfights.

She scales very well and her kit will always be useful with the amount of utility it brings and her ult can change a game.

Orianna is an excellent and versatile champion, so I definitely recommend playing her. I think she may have fallen out of the competitive scene as the assassin meta became increasingly prominent (she's weak to mobility and burst), but a ton of abilities in her kit complement the tank meta very well: her passive gives her the DPS needed to finish off tankier enemies and trade with them, and her Ball comboes (hue) multiply the initiation potential of any tank. She's a bit difficult to pick up, but she also has this flow to her abilities and attacks that feels beautiful once you get into it (you'll know when you do).

Not only is she a great champion, but learning her teaches you a lot about positioning, and how important it is. You have to position yourself, and the ball appropriately, otherwise you'll be ineffective in the game as a whole. You have to pay attention to a lot at once, but overall she's very rewarding to play.

Obviously as mentioned she brings a lot of utility to a team, and a proper ultimate will completely crush a teamfight. In late game it'll typically 1shot squishies, but above all else it's just extremely important to farm on her. Try to harass with auto attacks and the ball while farming, not too much of course, but she's capable of bullying out enemies pretty easily.

She also has a pretty easy time farming as well due to her passive, she develops some very painful auto attacks since she boats a 20% AP ratio + extra base damage if you utilize Arcane Blade, which you should on basically all AP champion. This damage also stacks dealing an additional 40% damage when you hit the same target multiple times.

All around she has a very solid kit, that's very useful for teaching you about team fighting.

The only issue she has is high mana costs in an age of energy/resourceless champions bloating up midlane.

Ori's kit is so well made that it works in almost every meta. She works really good in team fighting type teams because of that great ult. Only I have is when I put the ball someone and they go somewhere I did not expect and then I ult myself.

I think Orianna will always be a decent pick just due to the nature of her kit. She has loads of utility and scales surprisingly well into the mid-lategame, especially with her game-changing ultimate. She has mana problems early on, but good Ori's won't spam their kit to try and do damage, yet rather to farm good and then abuse their power with mana regen.

I feel like she's still a great champion to learn and play, and she's also a candidate for Liandry's meaning she can bust tanks okay as well (not as good as Brand/Mal of course). In lane she also has decent safety thanks to Dissonance, and her ult can shut down assassins well such as Zed/Katarina.

she'll be good forever as long as the player is good.

Orianna is strong in every meta. She's just an all around good champion.
