Unpopular Opinion: I really like what CT champs bring to the game.

I actually enjoy playing with, as, and against these champions most of the time. Even the Zoes and the Yasuos of the low elo world, I have a lot of fun with it. When they're not turbo-feeding on either side of the game, they're providing a pretty fun matchup. His champs have some pretty obvious weaknesses but also plenty of ways to work around them and play majorly to their strengths through good play. On the flipside, there are windows you can attack and obvious windows where you should be more defensive as the opponent, and improper play can seriously punish you. This isn't a BAD thing.

I'm not so big on midlane anymore, but I played it a lot after Zoe got released and I matched against her like 3/4 of the time. Laning against her required me to focus a lot on more than just harass and farm, and it was against her that I really learned how important positioning in your lane can be. She can't fight you through your minion line, so it's easy to block a large part of her kit. Her ult returns her to her starting point, so focusing CC there instead of where she jumps to is a lot smarter. Stuff like that.

While I understand the gripes people have with his champs and a lot of the why, I don't quite agree with it. I think his champs bring something good to the game and most of the time, I really do have a good time with/as/against them.

The thing about CT champions is that they are insanely fun to play but (to the majority of players) not fun to play against.

The issue with his champions is that he designs them as the player's to fail, not the opponent's to beat. Hence they have weaknesses that can be played around more easily than other kinds of weaknesses.

It is a bit disengenous to defend CT's champions with lines like "obvious weaknesses but also plenty of ways to work around them and play majorly to their strengths through good play" when that applies to every champion in the game. The problem with his champions is that he tries to cover up too many of his champion weaknesses. Zoe is a good example of an artillery mage who has too close range tools. As a result, she was broken as hell on release and only reigned in by the fact that most players were still learning how to play her. As more players started to understand her, the balance team was forced to gut her numbers and put her on the shelf until she gets reworked like kalista. Going forward, I expect her to be treated the same way as pre-rework poppy was.
