Mmr and Promotion series

So If the last season I was platinum,and this season when I played my 10 promos ended on gold 5 ,and when I get to 100 Lp and If I win ,I probably will get to gold 3 right? What If im In Gold 2 and I get to 100 Lp Can It get me to Plat or can you only skip series and not a tier?
