Always screwing with the Jungle...

Now don't get me wrong, its not that I do not think some of next seasons changes could be fun and interesting, but Riot's first go to is to always screw with the jungle. In my opinion the jungler already has one of the most changing and fluid positions to begin with, having to analyse and adapt to the direction of each game far more then the other laners typically. Then they also have to frequently re-learn the jungle routes and meta every season do to large changes. It seems to me junglers probably have to have a broader understanding of their "lane" and the meta as a whole to play at their highest ability when compared to the other lanes. Should Riot just leave them alone sometimes? What does everyone else think?

I agree with a lot of this, but as a jungler main, I also feel like the most boring part of being a jungler is the jungling itself. Camps aren't particularly interesting or interactive, jungle clear routes tend to be fixed, and even with Smite buffs I don't feel like the jungle really gives me any deep or variable choices. Clearing camps is basically just a means to an end, i.e. gold and levels, rather than an engaging part of the jungling experience, and because of that I think the jungle still needs a few more changes.

The jungle is also like 80% of the rift. Of course they need to change it every season.

It is so nice to hear someone finally fucking say this. Normally it's just "fucking noob jg doesn't even gank" or "gg 0 gank". Yes, it's the jungler's job to gank, but we also have to ward, keep in level by farming camps, secure neutral buffs and other team objectives, and invade the enemy jungle for deep wards and to mess with the enemy jungler. We have to know where everyone is at all times, or we put ourselves and others at risk. All you have to know as a laner is how to last hit, how to not feed, and how long until your ward expires.

But then it wouldn't be a preseason.

Remember, there isn't a preseason if there aren't any jungle changes.

I hate the fact their removing little Blue and little Red. I like smite buffs more then Plants. Otherwise the jg changes are ok for me.

Again, I think Riot changes the jungle so much because it's the position they can experiment the most with. Lanes are pretty solid and you can't really do much to change them that isn't interesting.

Basically the same reason why WoW shoulders and helmets in armor sets were always so expressive. The art team couldn't really give that much detail on the other pieces.

Because in the jungle, interactions aren't forced. In lane the two to four laners always exert some immediate pressure on each other while the jungle consists mostly of PvE camp clearing until they themselves decide to take action, or are counterjungled, making their actions always too long term.

Junglers get too much control over early game compared to the lanes, even if they rotate and push as hard as they can in an attempt to roam and get kills, the very presence of a jungler already forces too many decisions into being too risky.

So most of the time Riot creates ways to stop junglers from having every advantage in the game hinge on their choices by adding either depth or unpredictability, which sometimes works and sometimes just makes them outright weaker.

The jungler always has too many choices with such a huge impact, with the wrong choice being too punishing and the right choice being too rewarding. One bad gank after 3 good ones can mean dragon is lost while respawning but dying as mid once after managing the wave well almost never means losing a tower

I personally believe the jungle changes every season hirts leagues chances at getting sponsers for Pro matches. If in basket ball between each season they changed the height of the net or the width of the court people would get frustrated with the rules.
