Is who you get matched with really a coincidence?

I can go on a massive winstreak, get myself to a point that I feel like I have improved as a player then get placed in a game with the most toxic players known to man. The past 5 - 10 ranked games I have played have been filled with flamers and the latest two games with trolls. I've reported said players and got the notification that they have been punished but why do I keep running into toxic players. I'm not a toxic player myself (aside from the occasional "Just why" remark or telling someone to ward their lane (Which apparently is in fact, toxic)) and it doesn't feel natural that I have been matched with so many of these players. Sure enough I had a good run of games before hand where i climbed from silver 3 to silver 1 on 74 points. And now after a terrible run of games where it was more the attitudes of my fellow players that lost the game rather than the rest of the teams mechanics, I am back in silver 2. The tone of this post is calm by the way, I lost my ability to rage after being placed in bronze 4 this season. Also on paper as I climb higher I know that my winrate should go down but it feels like it is being forced down by other players attitudes. Now I do infact mute my teammates but when the other players on the team engage in a flame war with the initial culprit, it is really goddamn hard to carry a game with players who clearly do not want to win.

On another note, last Friday you guys at Rito made me lose a game because you didnt notify the community about the shitty connection me and many others had.

I mean I guess I just have to pray to RNG to be matched with decent human beings
