Why This Game Is Hard To Enjoy

It's the community. It's the culture. I love this game and have played it for many years, but it would be a lie to say it doesn't bring out the worst in me. It makes you want to hate people, and sometimes, even your own friends. In other games, sure, there are some "toxic" players too, but usually, I am met with people way more eager to help and be friendly. In league, everyone is competition. Not just the enemies, but the people on your team too. It's the battle of the egos. Where, if your ego is damaged then you give up trying to win and switch to team sabotage. Oh yeah, baby. Thought you were going to call me bad and still win the game? Nope. Not on my watch. I mean, what other game makes people prefer losing over winning?? That doesn't even sound like it makes any sense but in league, it happens all the time. That's the culture boys. League of Egos. All kills are mine; everything else is a KS. Gold funnel or feed. It's not our win it's mine. ME.

How this rant all started:

I was in a casual bot game recently and asked my team to help me with baron for the quest. Only two people showed up, I was grateful for that, while one other person literally hurried to end the game before we could get it down. He acknowledged it too... Like, why are you like this? Why must you be so hateful for no reason? I don't even have to ask that question because I already know the answer, and I am guilty of it too. This is the nature of the game and it drives us to be shitty human beings. It's all emotional, but there is just something about this game that triggers us so deeply, and as a result, we release our frustrations on our teammates. I refuse to believe that "some people are just rude." I play other games, and none of them even come close to to the level of toxicity that league brings out in me, and other players.
