Hextech Skin Shard Crafting Could be Better

The crafting system is a lot of fun. It rewards you for well-played games and provides incentive to break out of a set bracket of champs. But there are aspects of the system that could be more rewarding, namely the "craft three skins shards into another skin shard" system. If a player has collected three skin shards that they can't use, I feel like it would be better to allow them to craft those shards into a guaranteed skin shard for a champion that they have, rather than another random. The value isn't comparable: three skin shards into a fourth random one is three times the effort for most likely less than a third of the reward. Even if the number of shards that a player needed to craft was raised, from three to four or five, I feel like it would be better and more rewarding for the player to be guaranteed a skin shard for a champion that they own. Even if people spam RP-purchased chests, that's more money that they're spending on RP to get the chests/keys in the first place than is lost on one guaranteed owned-champion skin for every 3-5 random shards.

Incentive-izing good gameplay is a great asset to this game, but after a certain point, the effort that one has to put into the potential of the reward greatly outweighs the reward itself. I'm sure I'm not the only one with a couple thousand orange essence that I can't use because none of the skins I've gotten from chests or re-crafting are worth crafting themselves.
