So I’m a teenager and I’m a sophomore in high school. The moment I mention league of legends everyone sighs. Do people just not like this game anymore?

Highschool kids have a 1 track mind and probably cant see anything beyond Fortnite at the moment.

they do lol , most of player base are teens so who aren't playing it are children , Aka my Brother and his group who are 9/10/11 years old who are spamming fortnite

As a high school teacher, can confirm kids ONLY play Fortnite right now, LoL is "old" now.

When you get to college you'll find more people 18+ play it. Also it'll take a lot of time away from studying, speaking from experience......I started in season 4 the summer before college.

I'm in the same grade as you and all I see are Overwatch players, Fortnite players, or Rainbow 6 Siege players at my school :/

Hold on. Teens? Eye-rolling and saying they dislike something that is popular? Never have I heard of such a thing!!!!

Kids are busy playing Fortnite and other battle royale games. Because you just join and pewpew until you die and go next game, so it's kinda popular with kids. It's not that the game can't have skill, but those games have 0 skill requirement/floor, so ofc it's gonna be popular with kids; kinda like how most FPS games are.

We were talking about Fortnite...

If youre talking about League, then this is a misunderstanding.

God that makes so much sense, had no clue why you were rambling on about league and reddit.

A lot of teens play the game. So do some kids (Got a 12-year old into the game and he finished Gold 3 last season).

League is just a very dated game and with the number of Ads/Promotions, it'd be hard to not be tired of hearing about it/most have already tried this game at least once. Just like on how a lot of my own friends get irritated everytime someone brings up Fortnite.

Someone interested will always be gung-ho about the game.

Cycle of users tbh.

Back in 2004 to 2009 or so a lot of teens were into WoW, as it was the fresh new hotness. Then as time went on they got into college and either A.) Kept playing or B.) focused on real life. We're kind of seeing the same thing with League now, as most kids (in my experience as a substitute teacher) play Overwatch or Fortnite.

Basically kids want a faster game experience these days and it's not like they're all going YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH DOTA2 GUYS. MOBAs have run their course and aren't the hypebeast they used to be.

League started to really explode during Season 3 and 4 which is when all of the teens started to play. Fast forward 4 or 5 seasons and now all of those players are 18+ years old. Then, you also have the fairly big group of players in their 30's and above that still like to play video games like League. It looks like most teens nowadays are into Fortnite and all that garbage so the demographic for League will probably get smaller for the teens and move along towards the 20+ group which is where the players are that started playing when League exploded.

Oh trust me kids do still play this game. I know because I still get people to watch too much anime and have this "Never give up" mentality. I don't think that they actually a feeder whos been feeding for the first 20 minutes will somehow stop feeding for the next 20 minutes and somehow carry the game. They just don't want to surrender because anime.
