True confessions of a "blamer" and my inability to adapt

I love League. I've invested WAY too much time and money into the game (especially to suck so badly at it still). Most days I'll cruise over to the boards to see what's popping. Usually it's the typical rage-drunk posters calling the balance and live gameplay team names and for their jobs. There are days where I legitimately despise posts on this board and it's varying degrees of "echo-chamberness" I chime in, and do my fair share of arguing.

However, lately, I've been catching myself "buying-in" to the flame. I hate the feel of the game sometimes, and I don't know if it's nostalgia of the way it used to be or if I actually am getting worse at the game. I find myself "blaming" Riot for losses as if they are playing the game and not me. When I play the game now I feel like people just explode and some times I have no idea what even just killed me. It's hard to feel like certain situations are "fair" when yasuo uses a basic ability to block my Twitch R from his team, or Akali stalls out a gank for 10 seconds in her shroud and buys her jungler time to respond and counter gank.

All this to say that today while scrolling the boards I was hit with the realization.**** My inability to adapt to how the game is shifting is my fault,** not the games.** I may dislike aspects of it. I hate that I feel like every "trade" in lane is just an all-in. I hate that I don't feel like I can really "out-lane" someone anymore because some other lane is inevitably snowballing and taking tier 2 at 10 minutes. THIS IS MY FAULT. Probably because I'm old but I have trouble shifting into these champs and the "one shot" meta. Where tower-dives are typically brainless and don't have to even be pulled-off well to be successful.

This is the direction Riot and Tencent are taking the game. I can't blame them for losing. They are doing what they feel is best for league. I can adapt or not but it's really selfish for me to expect the game to cater to the style I like. So if you need me, I'll be in the practice tool learning how to play new champions!! :D
