Why should I review my replays?

Everyone says that you should review your replays and study them and find out what you did wrong so you can "avoid making mistakes" or "play better". What I don't get is even if you review your replays and see what you did wrong, the same situation, or even a close situation will almost never happen again because your replay involves certain champs, abilities, positions, etc. There are just so many variables that are different from that match in comparison to any other match. Adding to this point, if I find a mistake in a game that I replayed, I shouldn't have to look out or be fully conscious of the solution to the mistake because it will most likely never happen again.

I just don't get it, someone please explain.

I know it sounds like a dumb question but I just seriously don't see how this helps.

Same patterns do occur though. The reason to review replays is because after viewing enough you really will start to notice certain behavior that you repeatedly do in every game. Once you recognize this behavior and attempt to change it you will notice a difference.

Another good reason is when you dont know why you lost. Have you ever gotten in a lvl 3 fight. lost, and wondered how you lost when you thought for sure you had it won? Watch the replay.

Just as there are many variables to your mistakes/situations, there are also just as many constants that do not change from game to game/situation to situation. For example, warding your lane. Perhaps your mistake was not warding, so you could not see the jungler coming to gank you therefore you died. Other things can be simply buying pinks to place strategically around the map for map control/vision control. The game is as much a vision war as it is actual fighting.
