Autofill
I think it should be changed to a 3 role queue. 2 you want, the 3rd is the one you put "don't put me in" At least do this for rank Or remove autofill from rank
I personally don't mind the autofill, but my average game experience has more people raging, dodging or trolling over autofill than is necessary
Things I commonly see: "This role is my worst role." If no trade is offered "Going x pick don't judge me" - game loss Trade is offered. Both players fall behind from game start "F autofill" multiple dodges then occur. After a bunch of dodges, I might get autofilled. I don't really mind this like I said, but then when it happens to others, "omg x queue dodges and now I'm filled. F autofill. F this role". Trade offered or not at this point doesn't really matter the tilt has happened. Or "autofilled". Player then locks off meta or clear troll pick trying to encourage OTHERS to dodge. When the dodge doesn't happen, remake or loss. The only time youre saving is on the before game timer itself, but it might as well be the 5 to 10 min queue time instead of 2 or 3 with all the dodges, remakes, or trolls. You aren't forgiven losses for trolls either.
If you're trying to climb, there are MANY player guides and higher rank suggestions that tell you "dodge the queue if you see a troll or comp is terrible"
Terrible comps are (imo) occurring more often because of fill. This also prompts more dodging. And when you're tired of time penalties you don't dodge anymore, then you're begging for trades and/or hoping your account doesn't get flagged for too many dodges (if you are indeed dodging to help climb)
It boils down to environment and goals. You give a player base a goal (rank) and they as players strategize how best to achieve that goal in said environment.
I know I know I know, previous versions of champ select were a mess with their own, tilting problems. In this case I guess we need to measure it based off of what would you rather have? Longer queue times aren't really solved if you may or may not get into any game you queue up for you. If you give players a reason to want to dodge at any given time, you're still waiting to get in game. In rank, you and the others may be settling on roles, or swapping on roles just for the sake of getting the game started. I can see this being acceptable for games that don't have weight to them, but for rank? Rank is frustrating as is; let's not give it more reasons to be unenjoyable
