Word of advice, treat every moment as a learning experience

I have recently switched from mainly doing supp and jung to doing mid and jung just for a change of pace. It's interesting to lane mid and see the different matchups and learn from them (what works and what doesn't). I've been doing alright, but let me tell you I have made a bunch of cotton/wood/cardboard/aluminum 5 mistakes. Whether it is not paying attention to my own wards when a jungler ganks me, or missing a chance to turn the tide with a tp, I have let my teammates down in many ways that could have been avoided.

For the most part, my teammates have not raged or flamed at me and I don't annoy my jungler by saying they should have ganked better. So what do I do? I try my best to say, "What could I have done different there". Right after something bad happens it's only human to get mad and try to blame somebody else, but I have to stop myself and assess the situation. Sometimes I'll record matches and go back to see where I could have gotten some extra farm, some better poke, or maybe warded a little more strategically.

I want to be the one helping to carry games and I don't want games to be decided by an AFK or a feeder on the other team as it doesn't take the same amount of skill to win those games as it does one where everybody is trying their best. I have learned that I am not as good as I thought I was and I need to practice some specific areas, namely farming and poking in lane as well as overall map awareness. I commend my opponents when they do well and I try to be humble when I am winning my lane.

I do my best to remember it is a team game and peel as best as I can for my carries. When I am calm and confident I can better assess the situation and read what the opposing team is trying to do. CC has become my best friend and I try my best to peel for my carries when I am not in said role (a thankless job often but it needs to be done). Afterwards I'll look at the match history to see what people were building and how that worked for them. I try to learn from what other people do (both good and bad) and most of all I have fun. Best of luck to you all. See you out there :)
