Just a random idea
Hey, I know this is completely random and out of the blue, and perhaps this is a silly idea, but it's something that's been on my mind for a while since the VGU thing started.
Why aren't player Champion Mastery levels reset when an older Champion is given a VGU?
Now before you click away, hear me out.
What I mean is when an older champion is getting a VGU that rebuilds them basically from the ground up, with little to no similarities to the new kit in comparison to the old, aside from token things, why is a player's Champion Mastery level considered the same once the VGU hits live servers? After all, in the cases of the extreme VGUs like
,
,
(And I'm sure there's more), their kits were HEAVILY altered. Players were in some ways having to re-learn their champions from the beginning. So if a Champion is getting set back at Level 0 basically, why not a player's Mastery levels with them?
With smaller-scale VGUs like the one Ezreal
got, I can see why you wouldn't do it. The changes were nowhere near as extensive. Aside from a few changes here and there, all it really gave him was a fresh coat of paint.
I'm sure there are various reasons as to why it is not done, like how if someone had spent Blue Essence on unlocking their LVL6 and LVL7 Tokens, would the amount they spent be refunded at the time a Mastery level for a champion that they had LVL6 or LVL7 when it was set back to 0, or something else along those lines.
I don't know. It's just something that's been in my head for the last little while regarding VGU's.
