The Yasuo Question & Keeping Game-play Unique

Afternoon everyone.

A bit of an introduction, I'm a buck standard silver/gold player who, during the past few seasons, has been gravitating towards skirmishers and aggressive mages. Yasuo, if you couldn't tell by the title, has been one of these which I've found particularly interesting with a rather defined play-style that a decent, if not widely enjoyed, part of the community has taken to. During this past PBE cycle, I've seen some rather disconcerting things which have made me concerned for the path Riot is taking in adjusting items and play-styles.

Lets take a look at Yasuo's current passive, and more specifically his critical modifiers. When compared to the current infinity edge changes, we see something that seems to go against riot's design ideal of keeping each champion and item unique, letting every champion feel like it has an established identity, and ensuring that there is little overlap in the play-styles of different champions. The Malzahar player-base brought up something similar when his passive was changed to essentially replicate banshees veil, however I believe the infinity edge change is much more troubling.

What is being shown by Riot here is that they don't seem to care about keeping things unique currently, at least in regards to pushing these changes. When one champion's passive without any of the negatives such as reduced crit damage (and part of a widely used rune) are slapped onto an established item that is marketed primarily towards marksmen, they are essentially saying to the aforementioned champion's player base that their identity is not important enough to be preserved moving forward.

I understand that league of legends is in a constant state of change, however when large-scale changes such as these are made, there needs to be reciprocal changes to effected champion archetypes, or even individual characters. Theres plenty of chatter on Reddit about proposed changes and individuals with similar qualms to mine, though I just wanted to ensure that this issue was voiced formally at least once, and I think I speak on the behalf of the community when I write that champion identity is a huge issue when large-scale item change are made. Whether right now this is Yasuo's double crit chance being copied by a popular item, or if in the future spirit visage or something takes on Tahm's gray health passive, this is not a good design choice I am sure.

In closing, any opinions on this are welcomed, though a Red response would be the thing I seek the most from this.

Thank yall for reading.
