Gangplanks interaction with sheen

Gangplank's barrels consume sheen items (besides lich bane) everyone knows this. But I am a little upset with the way it goes about doing this. When the barrel has one health, and gangplank finishes it off, It will deal all of his damage dealt to it, in an AOE, this of course includes sheen damage. When you place a barrel a lot of players will immediately basic attack it once to remove one health from it, allowing to to drop to 1 hp sooner. The problem with this is that the barrel will still consume the damage dealt even on 3 or 2 hp meaning that your sheen item's passive will be put on cooldown with no benefit, and your next attack will not proc sheen. This removes a lot of damage from Gangplank.

I understand that this is not a bug, but I feel like removing this aspect would be a nice "quality of life" buff for the champion.

Tell me what you think, Have a nice day! < 3

It makes it so he wont abuse his barrels too much in early game, when your barrels health drops slowly. When you reach level 13 you can pretty much insta pop a barrel with Q so it's intended i think.
