Anti shielding items
I think it would only be fair to have an item or two that could counter shields, given how powerful they can be, much like how there are three items plus a summoner spell that counter healing. ![]()



So i came up with some ideas:
Ionizing Shades: (

Unique: +15 Magic Penetration
Unique Passive: Dealing magic damage to a target ionize them for 6 seconds. Damage dealt to ionized targets that benefit from a health shield is converted to true damage. Damage that would exceed the shielded value is reduced by armor or magic resist like usual. Magic damage from the wearer always benefits from this effect.
Ionizing Shades could be an alternative to
while also giving mages bonus utility for their team in exchange for the health shred from Liandry.
Plasma Mantle: (

+50 Magic Resist
Unique Passive - Static Field: Zap nearby enemies that benefit from a health shield every seconds, this effect can also jump from one shielded target to another, even if they are outside the original range. Static Field deals 50 (+4 per champion level) magic damage per second to all zapped targets and to targets around them. Enemies can only be zapped once per second, but can be damaged by multiple zaps. Damage dealt by this item to shielded targets is converted into a shield for the wearer. Wearing this item also makes you immune to enemy Static Field.
A tank item that could allow front liners to deplete enemy shields for their teammates, while also helping themselves survive by stealing their shields. The item itself has weak stats, and would deal no damage to unshielded enemies unless they stand close to a zapped target, it would only be useful to counter teams that rely heavily on shields. The item could zap targets that are within an aura twice as big as sunfire, but the AoE damage itself would be about as big as sunfire.
Ethereal Garrote: (

Unique Active - Ethereal Killer: When activated, all damage you deal is reduced by 60% for 6 seconds, but is now converted into Pure damage (much like fountain turret), which ignores armor, magic resistance, shields, and even invulnerability effects. While active, you can target and damage untargetable champions, but not cc them.
My least favorite idea, but i thought i'd come up with something for AD champions too. You'd effectively sacrifice some damage against squishy targets for the ability to deal true damage and to ignore shields and effects like Zhonya. The active would allow you to deal more damage to enemies with a lot of armor or that are shielded, but might make you lose some damage against other targets.
