Kog needs to be a hypercarry to be viable

Let's ignore the fact that people pick Kog only because they want a very high damage hypercarry and just look at his kit for a bit. Unlike Ashe or Varus, he has basically no CC and his damage is quite conditional on his CDs and mana. Without it he's a slow 500 range useless ball of squish. Even when he's attacking, it's not really possible to kite well without hurting your DPS. Why would anyone want to play Kog if his damage wasn't obscene? He'd just be a worse Ashe with much less forgiving positioning and windows.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the weak early and strong late power curve. I'm pretty sure that everyone who wants to play Kog actually likes that about him. I certainly would rather have that than a smoother power curve but a watered down late game. If Kog isn't the highest damage champion in the game, literally every other ADC is a better pick. The problem lately has simply been that Kog became strong early as well as late. Although, strangely enough his early and mid game were actually a lot stronger than his late game (which made no sense).

Anyway, please excuse me while I cry in a corner about the state of AP Kog post-rework.
