Champion Selection Lock-In Frustration

So I'm kind of frustrated. An old-school player here coming back from a hiatus of a few years. I like a lot about the new champion selection but one thing that is frustrating to me is that if you don't lock-in your champion it will queue dodge you. A lot of times what I used to do back in the day was to choose the champion I wanted to play and use the extra time to set-up any last minute runes I wanted to adjust. But now this behavior will count as a dodge! It's frustrating, to say the least! I know some people will probably come back with the fact that there is extra time at the end to set that up, but if everyone instantly locks in then I run out of time at the end to choose exactly what I want. And I don't like feeling rushed at the end to choose potentially sub-par rune choices.

Anyway, just something that has been frustrating to me and wanted to see what everyone else thought about this.
