Kicking Champions

Riot should implement a system which allows players to kick a certain person if they are trolling/feeding purposely. If I'm not wrong, CS:GO has something like that right?

Please upvote so Riot can see..

Yep CSGO has a system, where anyone, can vote to kick anyone, for any reason... so you get constantly bombarded by frivolous votes over nothing. CSGO is also a game where a team mate getting punted and replaced is a 1 round disadvantage for the team where that persons money is down. Punting a player and replacing them with a gimp won't help League - this has been suggested before and no one has come up with a good mathematical equation for what the new player coming in would receive, how their champ would be determined etc.

First of all, there is one big difference between CS:GO and League (I think, I don't play CS); the only thing differentiating people in CS:GO is skill level because there is no concept of champions or build paths that create different situations. Every character is the same and while equipment can change, all of equipment is equally effective on each character. This is obviously not true of League. Because there is a considerably smaller amount of flexibility in CS:GO it is not a fair comparison and while a vote kick might work for CS:GO, it doesn't really work so well in League.

I assume you mean the ability to kick a player from a game lobby if they are trolling and that you are only referring to ranked, because in normals it would be too easy to gang up on the odd man out of a 4 man queue. It isn't even worth discussing kicking someone from in game, because it would force an instant 4v5 which, while it might seem better to you, the reality is you're still likely to lose the game in a 4v5. Trying to find a replacement player might not be possible (I don't know the technical details of how games are created; if only the summoners who originally connected are capable of reconnecting, finding a new player wouldn't be possible). Even if someone else could connect to the game, a lot of the same problems that would result from getting kicked from a game lobby would apply to getting kicked out of game; not to mention the extended game length and frustration it would bring. Also, I can't imagine there would be a large number of people willing to "sub in" because, chances are, if you kicked someone, you're losing the game. And I can't see why people would want to join a game in a losing position.

The first reason a vote kick wouldn't work is because people would begin to kick people for playing champions they didn't think were good picks. There is a difference between off meta picks and troll picks. Your purpose might be to target the troll picks, but off meta champions would be targeted as well, and this would be incredibly unfair to these players. For example, you certainly want to kick the AD zac troll. But you are just as likely to kick the ap ezreal player and this isn't fair. In case there is any confusion, off meta picks are champions that are less popular, or builds that are less popular, but have synergy with the champions kit and just perform in a different way. AP amumu, AP malphite, on hit teemo (vs AP teemo) are all different ways to play champions but certainly shouldn't be considered troll picks. Not the strongest picks? Sure, that could be. But that doesn't warrant kicking that player from the game, and this is what would happen.

The second reason this wouldn't work is because at higher elo's you would run into the same problem as you would in 4 man queues; since the player base becomes smaller, players are more likely to recognize other players and kick them based on prejustice. And again, these players might get kicked not for trolling, but for playing off meta. This would be unfair to the player getting kicked.

The third reason this wouldn't work is because with third party data and research sites, players can look up other players relative success with champions. This is best illustrated with an example. Let us say for arguments sake that you and I are both hecarim players. I pick Hecarim (jungle), but you pick later down the pick order and wanted to jungle hecarim as well. We both get looked up on something like op.gg. You have a perfect KDA with him, and i have a less than perfect KDA. I might get kicked simply because there is someone that can play the champion more effectively and this, again, would be incredibly unfair. While I would agree that it is in the teams and my best interest to let you play hecarim, I shouldn't be kicked if I don't choose to go that route.

The fourth reason this wouldn't work (to stop trolls in champ select only) is because it would just make the trolls be quiet in champion select and wouldn't solve the problem while introducing all of these other negative effects I have (and will) mention. If the trolls are going to make it into game, refer to my above reasons why kicking people from game wouldn't work.

The final reason is that any vote kick would be abused in many more cases than it would be a positive addition. In addition, it would just create walls between players that are suppose to be working together towards a goal. It would generate negative feelings towards entire teams because players would get blamed for NOT vote kicking someone. It would also hard enforce a meta because people would kick people for not playing champions they perceived as strong.

I personally haven't seen many outright trolls in games recently, so it would appear that Riot is actually doing a pretty good job policing it (or im just high enough elo to not see them, or just lucky). But if you get a troll in your game, I don't think there is anything you can do about it in the moment. Rather, I think that the review of that players behavior needs to be scrutinized more, taking into account pre and post game lobby conversations as well (to be honest, I'm not sure what information Riot has access to/ looks at when handing out punishments). I would also be in favor of one dodge per day with no penalties on it because there is little room for abuse and could save someone a promo series, etc. But I digress.
