Botlane Changes

Right now, a lot of people rightfully point the finger at botlane for all the issues with the game. Conqueuer fixed many of the solo queue issues in top, cause you can just pop off and run amock in the game. But, midlane is still struggling, because "a lack of utility" isn't just a downside to some champs, it's an unnaceptably crippling handicap that permanently disadavantages your team.

The reason its so crippling, is because support is actually just broken, and ADC is constantly intruding on other areas. To clarify, when I say "support is broken" I specifically mean the easy supports. Janna, Nami, Sona all perform well outside of lane, posessing large team fight ultimates with huge CC in large areas, aoe buffs and debuffs, some form of CC as their only skill shot, except Sona with an exhaust on a 3 second CD that scales with AP. Both scaling in damage and utility.

Compare this to another support such as Bard. 1 very difficult CC, and a significant and creative ult that requires an understanding of the champion and game. However, by the numbers, Nami, Sona, and Janna all out heal, out sheild, out CC, out kite, and outdamage on average. A normal Nami is in all ways better than a good Bard, even though Bard is designed to reward talent, inherent design immensely cripples those who agree to take risk. "Support is over powered" stems from highly effective champions which have little risk, aggression, interaction or skill expression involved. High elo should be dominated by Alistar, Blitz, Leona, and Rakan, not ResidentSleeper support that spam shield and don't do anything.

I recently watched a clip of IWillDominate playing rengar, absolutely 1 shotting the Sona. I anticipate the crying across the boards as people get obliterated by assassins with "No Counterplay" but that's for a champion with no skill expression.

If Riot has any hope of fixing the game to be more fun and interesting for everyone, step one is to make champions less effective in proportion their skill expression. Power should not be given to compensate for how little there is to a champion, they should just accept that their consistency comes at a heavy cost.

Step two is to make "play maker supports" have something more to them than their one singular key ability. As much as I love Blitzcranks hook, I feel like it's incredibly unfair how Nami gets a massive CC, a huge engage ult, poke, healing. Bard gets a poor excuse for a heal and a speed buff, Rakan has to land an ability, Leona gets nothing, Alistar is based on nearby deaths and takedowns, and landing big CC comboes, thresh also gets nothing. Other just get it for free. That ridiculous. If anyone gets a consolation prize for free, it should be the ones who rely on a big game changer and have no other tools except their one big skill.

As impactful as it may be, throwing Blitz's one big hook, and then having NOTHING to do, when Sona can spam abilities, sustain, walk into danger and just gets a free 2 second AoE stun with a huge ratio on top of all her buffs and debuffs is just plain unfair. There's no other phrasing it's just unfair.

Then, there are the other mage supports, such as Zyra, Velkoz, Lux, Brand, or Others. The issue with these champions is that they're designed for mid, and Riot has been unwilling to say to midlaners "sucks to suck, you're a poke champ, and you do nothing until you have items." The result is champions with too little late and mid game power budget, so they're useless as a carry to try and chunk out the enemy team before the dogpile begins (which is itself a major issue, seeing as that's all the game is, 10 champs dive into each other) and champions with TOO much lane power for a support. They're too forgiving which makes playing against them a support infuriating, but leaving lane as a carry, they're useless. Riot has managed to create unbalancable situations, where stripping power to balance for support will just ruin the champ into the dumspter, and buffing it to be relevant midlane, will allow it to be abused bottom. Riot isn't creating clear power ups and downs that are appropriately related. Why does Velkoz do a terrifying amount of damage in bottom, while Velkoz is by no means a meta midlaners?

Please Riot, fix the appropriate issues in bottom, and reward the committed support players, making botlane interesting with Thresh, Morgana, Blitz instead of turning it into a farm fest.
